I just got an ipad and I will mostly be using it for applications--such as solitare, ibooks, scrabble, words with friends etc. Have many of you used up 2GB in a month? Why when i look up my cellular data usage does it say I have the 2gb plan yet says i have used up 172mb out of 1800 mb? Why does it list that and what does it mean? I don't want to go over my 2gb...yet I am confused. Thanks for any insight you may have

And it scrolls all the way back up to the top of the page real fast? Is there a way to get to the bottom fast like that? I tried tapping on the bottom. But nothing.

Then i tried the same website with my iPhone (same Wi-Fi connection as on my laptop) and it took 22 seconds.

View 1 RepliesI have had my iPad for over a year now and since I got it the clock has been fast. I always re set the time but it doesnt take long before it is 2 or 3 minutes fast again. Not a major problem I know and it is probably just me but it is annoying.Does this happen on them all?

Recently, I have been doing work with digital magazine publishing, so I downloaded the Wired Magazine application and a few issues. I also purchased a few other digital magazines. I need to look into this for my job.I'm not sure when, but suddenly I could leave the iPad connected for hours on end in "Backing up ipad" and I'll always need to cancel it, since I eventually need to use the **** thing, or leave for work.I also have an iPhone 4, and that backs up in seconds, even though there are many more gigs of apps, music, and photos on the phone than the iPad (which has 1.85 gb of apps and no music or photos).I am using the new cable, the same cable, computer, and usb port as the phone but only the phone backs up successfully. This is getting quite ridiculous.Have any other Mac 10.6 users run into this, and have you solved anything? The various threads about deleting apps to find a "bad app" are silly; all the apps on there I need, and data is data. If the phone can back up over 4 gb in 30 seconds, the iPad should be able to back up less than half that in less than 24 hours, no?

View 43 RepliesI got a brand new iPad the other day, and when I first turned it on and activated it I downloaded a few apps. The main app I've been using is MangaDL to read manga on the go (comics). Last night, before sleeping I tried my first sync/backup and now when I wakeup it's still not done!!! This is absolutely not right. I barely even have 2GB worth of things inside the iPad!Now I've read other forum posts about slow backup speeds... but as soon as it gets technical it seems everyone is talking about Windows. Just as a note, I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I just upgraded from Tiger 2 days ago.

I tried to defrag under Windows 7 but can't find the iPad drive in the Win Explorer. Or is there a program in Mac OSX I can use for?
View 3 RepliesI make constant use of the built in dictionary.I am reading quite a long book (The Shadow of the Wind)' and now that I am on page 270 out of aprox. 600, everytime I double tap a word to access its definition, it takes around 5 seconds for the dictionary book to show up. The weird thing is that it doesnt happen when I perform the same action on the first 100 pages of the book, for example - it is really way snappier then.Is it a bug or can I do something about it?

View 7 RepliesForgive my "technological ignorance" but I'm very impressed by the speed of the iPad OS...
I will give you an example. On my iPhone, when you opened and closed apps in quick succession, or even if not in succession, it would "hiccup" sometimes and the transition from the app screen, to the shrinking app making way to the dashboard, wasn't very instant.
With iPad, you can enter and exit apps one after another and the transition to home screen is so quick!
Also, even things like menu navigation, is fast!!!

View 24 RepliesThe time setting on my iPad keeps gaining! A while back I noticed that my iPad time was about a minute ahead of my cable box (and other time sources). So I set the iPad. Now in less than a couple of weeks I just noticed that the iPad is over 2 minutes ahead!!! Any idea what's going on? Anybody else notice this? Any thing to do?

after the initial wait for OS4 to load, and its first back up. all my back ups since have been fast, like real fast. has anyone else noticed. i like the speed. i have zinio and all back on the ipad

I have managed to resist the temptation of buying an Ipad until now, but I took the notion yesterday to go and have a go on one at my nearest Apple store. After about 1/2 an hour of messing messing about with one, i went to make the purchase only to be told that there were none in stock and that I would need to reserve one (which i should be able to pick up in the next 7 days)Not even wanting to get into the questionable reasons as to why a product that was released months ago is still in short demand - I am in 'Ipad-limbo' for the next week or so. erformance, and not a result of the fast wireless network in the store?
