Interesting thing occurring on my iPad. If I open a new tab in safari or open a link on a page, it goes to the wanted page. But then switches to a graphic saying something about "someone doesn't like you, and you f**ked up" it then goes to a website, either a phone tracking website or something called [URL] This doesn't just happen on one website I visit, it occurs on numerous websites.
we recently added to our "tools" (next to iPhone) 2 iPads; struggling a bit with the way (philosophy) MobileMe is accessed: I can access it from my MacPro ( or iMac) with <www.me.com> under Safari, ( use mainly for new folders' generation, iDisk access, Gallery uploads) . I have impression that this link DOES NOT work on iPad (or iPhone): at least it always redirects me to an intro-page , rather then letting me actually log-in -> Thus: a) is it MEANT, that all settings-changes are only made on the "mother"-Macs ( or any other PC) ? b) CAN I log-in via iPad, if YES - HOW ?? -- 2. when I have added new bookmarks ( or let's say the iPad), will MobileMe push it to the Mac and/or vice versa -- 3. is bookmark-syncing only possible via the iTunes-Sync pathway, which as we all know takes quite a bit, every time ( SYNCing indeed is still sluggish in my configuration) -
I like to open pages in a new page so I use this a lot. When I then click on the previous page that was opened, sometimes the page just opens to where it was before, which is the way it should. However, often when I click on that previous page the page opens by refreshing itself and does not go back to the point it was at previously. Is there a trick to placing the finger at a certain point on the previous thumbnail page, or am I just expecting the behavior to work that way and it does not?Information :MBP 15 CD, MBP C2D 17, 17 Uni; TiBook, G4 MP500; iMac Grape, Orange, Mac OS X (10.6.4)60G iPodPhoto,4Gnano,8GiPhone, 32GiPhone3GS,32GiPhone4 1Gshuffle, 2TTime Capsule.
I have been following this forum about wifi disconnecting. I get a popup stating " safari cannot open the page because the server stopped responding". The iPad shows four bars and that I am connected.I recognize this as a problem similar to others in this forum, but they don't mention the error message that I explained above.I have tried all the "fixes" with no results.I am using a Belkin wireless N+ router Information :iPad iOS 4
I am having difficulty getting into my university's web portal. When I successfully get to the university's website and then click on the portal link, I get a message back from the iPad saying "Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the website." I have no difficulty getting into the portal using my MacBook in exactly the same location. What's going on and how to make it work?
When trying to open Safari on my ipad, it dosn't work and I get the message" cannot open page...because server stopped responding", but facebook works. My imac, Ipod work though. I tried to reboot by pressing the on/off and home button at the same time but that hasn't worked. I tried to erase the cookies and data and that didn't work.
What name instead of 'safari' should I use to "call" Safari to load the web page?
Instead of opening from embedded hyperlink on the same window losing the current web page, I often like to open on to a new tab but I am not too sure how to go about it with the Safari on the iPad, seeing that is a touch screen.
My partner recently purchased an IPAD 3 and it is a fantastic piece of kit. However, whenever she tries to access a particular site, ITV Player, an annoying message appears advising that it can't open due to too many redirects. Have tried deleting history and cookies but that doesn't work.
Error message: Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. What I have tried. Restart, reset ip (valid on our domain), clearing cache, etc, brightness, auto brightness off.School network with Netgear AP's. AP's are WPA secured. I am able to connect to the AP. My iPhone 4 connects to same AP fine, as does touches.I have 30 iPads, none will connect. Information :iPad Other OS.
Not to point a finger at this ios update.when I updated my well functioning Ipad which is 3G+Wifi around. However, I noticed my Ipads WIFI is not connecting properly to my router. Rather my Ipad WIFI appears as though it is connected, showing me the bars etc and that there is a strong connectivity, however when I log into safari it does not load and instead says, " Safari cannot open the page because its not connected to the Internet". Several times I have turned on/off airplane mode, turned my wifi on and off, reset my network settings and still nothing. 3G still works but I use a ton of MBs at work so I can not afford to solely rely on that at home.

I'm not able to connect to the internet with the iPad I bought today. I can connect to my wireless network at home, but when I try to browse safari gives an error "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet". I've not inserted my 3G sim card yet, becasue I don't want to activate it until I'm sure my iPad works.I've tried:Verifying that other devices can access the internet via my wireless network: they can.Resetting the network connections on the iPad

I'm in safari browsing the net and I open a web page with photos. I click view all and a window opens with the selected photo enlarged and a series of clickable thumbnail photos in a scrollable window below. No problem, eh? Well, I cannot get the scrollable window to scroll and display the rest of the thumbnails. Only the whole browser windows scrolls. I tried all kinds of finger positions and gestures and the best that I could do is to get some copy box to show up and move around the page. This happens on all web sites with such a setup. The same happened on a real estate site with the same setup.
I've just gotten myself an iPad 64GB Wifi. I can connect to my wifi connection at home and at work but I still get this message: "Cannot Open Page: Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet".My iPhone 3G and computer can connect to these networks just fine. I've tried all the fixes that Apple suggests including changing to a B or G network only, changing the encryption, changing the SSID, updating to the latest router firmware, resetting the network settings on the iPad.
I've been having alot of trouble lately with my ipad and receiving the following error message from Safari "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet." The is quite bothersome and would like to know how to resolve this problem. It only started during the lst coulple of dayfs. Prior to this, my ipad was functiontioning beautifully and i didn't experience any problems.
Almost every time I open a PDF in Safari the top half of page 4 is missing. Everything else is fine. If I open the same file in GoodReader it is displayed in it's entirety. Is this a known issue with Safari and is there a fix/workaround. I haven't upgraded to the latest iOS yet, am still one version back.
When I tap on the Internet icon, I am presented with a page that I was looking at on my desktop computer, but when I type in a new address, I am presented with a message saying "Cannot Open Page. Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet."
