ITunes Sync - Individual Single Files

While synching my iPad I noticed that I was missing an ep of a tv show; it was on the home pc, but not the iPad. Having never movied anything from pc to iPad, I watched the tutorial, which said select tab, select item, click apply, then sync. Itunes promptly erased ALL my videos, then plopped the missing file on the iPad, and inexplicably wiped all my books and music as well. Now I get the joy of adding all my files back onto the iPad.I've re-watched the tutorial and I followed the instructions exactly. There seems to be no procedure for individual single files from pc to iPad; you have to erase everything, then copy everything back over. Which is nuts. So first a declaration, then a question.

Can I sync 2 iPads to my iTunes? And what about sharing apps? Will I have to purchase them for his iPad as well as mine, or does Apple allow the apps to be on 2 iPads? Or should I fall back to "plan b" and take him on a nice long weekend?

I know there is a "five-device" rule that applies sharing content from iTunes. Does that rule also apply to iPads/iPhones? Right now my account lists "four devices" but I have at least 3 computers (I think it might be four) and at least an iPhone and an iPad (plus a "loaner" iPad that I used for a few days before getting my own and never really unauthorized.) This would make the total at least 5 and maybe more. Plus I will eventually end up getting at least another iPad and maybe another iPhone (no, not all for me) -- will I be able to sync all of these devices to the same iTunes account? Any advice on limits of how many iDevices can be synced to a single computer/iTunes account?

Single Photo Removal From IPad 2 Files?

How do I remove pictures from files/albumns without removing them from other files or albumns. After copying pictures from "Photos", Last in or dated Events file into a newly developed titled albumn, I've tried to delete the original picture from the above three files. I get a delete message "these photo are used in other locations, do you want the remove from all". I don't but it doesn't give me the option to remove only from these files??? Do I need an APP? I don't see any instructions in manual.

Methods To Sync Files Without ITunes

While iTunes is nice to sync music, videos, apps, etc...I'm not keen on using it for transferring files like PDFs, Word Documents, Photos, etc... to and from my iPad.For those of you that have Jailbroken your iPads what methods do you use, other than iTunes to transfer files to and from your iPad? I wish there was an adapter for the iPad that simply allowed you to plug in a USB Flash drive and then a file explorer app that let you copy or paste any file back and forth. Anything like this coming down the pike?

Can't Sync MP4 - Itunes Says That These Files Can't Be Played

I have a strange problem. I have A Go Pro HD Hero wich makes MP4 movies. These I can sync to my Ipad2 no problem. However I also have the new Go Pro HD Hero2 which makes the same mp4's but these I can't sync. Itunes says that these files can't be played on the Ipad. The settings on botch camera's are the same 1280*720 @ 59 frames p/s.

How do I sync Ipad 2 with a MS pc (both ways) without Itunes. I can�t install Itunes, Dropbox or Goodreader because of company policy, but I need to sync files between Ipad 2 and my work pc.The best solution has been to make Ipad 2 appear as an external harddrive through USB connection.As the Ipad is company asset, a jailbreak is not an option.

Install Single App Without Full Sync?

First, please forgive me if this is a FAQ - I'm a newbie here (note post count!). Anyway, I tried to download a commercial app today, but it wouldn't load. It ended up in my iTunes library, and a popup box on the iPad recommended we sync it from there.
However, in order to do this, we had to back up first (which took ages), and then sync everything back. There doesn't seem to be any way of selecting all apps, other than one at a time, for syncing from iTunes to the iPad, but if all aren't selected I get a warning message that not all my apps will be re-synced.
What is the easiest thing to do here? I've tried syncing in both directions, I've tried selecting the new app, and it obstinately refuses to load onto the iPad. Is there any third party software which will allow the loading of just one app, without going through the maddening syncing business?

Single Bad File Crashes Entire Sync?

I've just been syncing my first batch of music tracks. Initial attempts using all the 100 or so tracks crashed iTunes. I then did it methodically by album. I eventually found that just 5 tracks across 2 albums by one particular artist (Acoustic Alchemy) were the cause. 50 or so tracks across several other albums by that same artist synced OK.
OK, I can investigate those 5, no big deal.
But is this standard iTunes behaviour? I would have expected a 'bad' file to be by-passed, not crash the whole process.

This question may sound a little dumb, but I've never done it before. I have only transferred content from ipad to the itunes library, but I want to transfer a few items to a second iPad, content bought on the 1st ipad. I don't want to transfer the entire library, but a few films and TV programmes.

I just bought an iPAD 4th Gen for "family use". Purchased some games for the kids, plus some previously purchased with the wife's iPhone. I've put a limit on the number of games they can have on the iPAD at anyone time, so of course they've been merrily deleting and re-installing (i.e. re-downloading) games through the iPAD Apps store directly.
Having just fallen off my chair seeing the dramatic increase in internet data usage on my ISP account, and realizing that many of these purchased games are 1-2 GB each, it's clear I need to introduce some further means of control. Enabling restrictions on installing and deleting apps is one....much as they won't like it.
I've now got iTunes sync and backup working properly on my Windows (XP Pro) PC (had some device recognition/firewall issues), and done the PC authorization thing. So, I've synced and backed-up the iPAD a number of times so far, and looking at the iPAD Apps view in the iTunes screen, I see the list of all purchased apps and whether they are installed or not.
My question is - when apps are re-installed through iTunes sync, are they downloaded from the store all over again, or are they physically saved and retrievable from a library on the host PC, assuming they were actually installed on the iPAD when a backup was made? If they are not, is there any other way to save and restore apps to and from a PC (other than a full backup restore) to avoid having to re-download?

This is a recent problem. Everything was fine initially, and I don't think that I've done anything to change my setup.

Won't Find Apps Before Itunes Sync Process To Get DVD Movies And Camera Movie Files

Ok, I have done this in the past before using a couple of applications and after going through the daunting process, although working well, it was a daunting process.
At that time, it really wasn't worth my time for my iPhone and with the bigger screen on the iPad, I figured I'd give it another try.
Anyone here want to share their "Process" and what "applications" used to get movies from DVD's, camera movie files, etc., into the iPad quickly.
I know you have to use iTunes to sync the movies into the device but I'm looking for the process before the iTunes sync process.

For the ipad i have a us non - payment itunes account.I wanted to dl through my uk account via itunes on the mac a paid for app and then sync that to the ipad.However each time i try i get an message saying the remaining apps will be deleted... can any one help or guide as to how i can move apps from one itunes account to the other without deleting apps?

Syncing IPad 2 And IPhone4 Under Same Itunes On Single Computer?

I have had my iPhone4 since last August and just got the iPad2 on launch day. I hardly ever sync my iPad2 however i did when 4.3.1 came out and I noticed a lot of my apps for the IP4 are now on my IP2.
Is there a setting or something I am missing that I need to keep my app's separate between these 2 devices? I will start going through itunes to see if I see any settings outside of checking the boxes for the apps to appear on a device.
