How do I change the file icons in Pages and Numbers apps? Right now, the icon is a minature of the first page of my document, with the filename below it. Is it possible to list the filenames alphabetically? Is it possible to get a detailed list (filename, size, date modified, etc)?

they both open with a blank page, I Have tried to remove both apps, but they will not delete, they just lock up the Ipad and I have to wait for it to shut down. I am not having the same problems on my IPhone 4 both apps are functioning correctly. This has only started since I upgraded to IOS 5.1
View 3 RepliesI have some excel files in Dropbox and am thinking of purchasing Numbers (I already have Pages) but not sure how to download my Dropbox file so I can work on it in Pages or Numbers, if I buy it. When I download the file to the ipad, I get options to open in several apps but Pages is not one of them. I do not want to buy Numbers and find I cannot download files to the app to work on.

As I am currently working on these two programs and with their equivalent for PC (Word and Excel) for my research project, I would like to know how I can convert respectively the page and number format to word and xls, to use my documents both on my Ipad and my PC.

I have pre-ordered a 16GB 3G version. I am now having a few reservations about the 16GB size. I want the Ipad, basically, for web surfing and gaming. We have netflix, so I will stream most of the things I would want to watch, but there will be some times when I would like to put some newer movies on it, like when going on vacation.I was toying with the idea of putting my work documents on it as well which would result in me getting Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes. My work documents are about 700 MB.

Today I wanted to transfer some files from my iPad 2 to a Windows 7 laptop via iTunes. Both the iTunes and iPad software are up-to-date.I started iTunes on the laptop and plugged in the iPad; in the left column in iTunes, selected the iPad under devices; among the menu choices near the top of the screen, chose Apps. Toward the bottom of the iTunes window, an area appeared called "File Sharing," with a list of apps that "can transfer documents between your iPad and this computer." When I selected GoodReader, I saw all of the documents on the iPad that I expected to see. However, when I selected either Pages or Numbers, I didn't see any of several documents I'd created in each one.Is there anything I need to do within Pages or Numbers to "save" documents and make them visible to iTunes? When finished with each document I've just been returning to the Pages or Numbers document menu, but didn't think I had to do anything to save them per se.

Since the new iOS 5.1 I have been unable to add new documents to the iPad with iTunes sync (I do not use iCloud), but deletions will sync.
I have tried multiple times to add documents and they will not show up on the iPad after multiple attempts. The documents show in the File Sharing window for Numbers (and Pages) but never get to the iPad.
All the documents were to be new version replacements for the ones on the iPad which I regularly do. I have both deleted a document then addeded it as well as adding and telling it to replace the existing document. I have also tried to add documents that were not previously on the iPad, with no success. I have also created brand new documents then tried to sync them but that didn't work either.

iTunes will not sync Pages of Numbers files via Apps tab, File Sharing, add or drag. Searched threads here, one mentioned SDK beta2 may cause this but haven't installed it. Thought maybe give iWork.com a try. My Apple I.D. or password won't allow login. Same I.D. and pw to get here to post. Strange. Any ideas? Mac Pro 10.6.3, iPad not JB.

An incentive to upgrade, I know. I have Pages, Numbers, and Keynote '08, and I can't import files from them. But you can import from Office all the way back to 2003. Seems pretty shortsighted. Yet another incentive to keep using Microsoft Office on my home computer.
