Mac Laptop Charge It But Non Mac Won't?
Mar 25, 2012wtf? This is especially true with the new iPad being a power hog. My friend has a 15" Mac laptop & I have an MSI GX740-235US. When my iPad is plugged in to my laptop, it says Not Charging but if there's nothing running in the background and I leave it asleep it charges, whereas his Mac charges whether or not I use it. Just not at a very fast speed.

Nov 14, 2010I've been trying to charge my iPad from laptop since I purchased my iPad months ago. I own both a Mac Book Pro and a Windows PC. Neither of them will charge the iPad. It seems the only way to charge it si to plug the iPad into an AC adpater. For me this greatly dimishes the portablility.

Aug 21, 2011I'm brand new here and I haven't got my iPad yet, its meant to be arriving on Tuesday but basically what I wanted to find out about was do you have to have a Mac to begin using the iPad, or can I just do it via the iTunes on my Windows laptop?

I charge my ipod using the same cable too, so it aught to be working. i have seen here that ipad does not charge well when connected to laptops. Apr 26, 2012I'm a teacher that would love to use my new iPad in my classroom but if I can't project what's on the iPad wirelessly, I lose a great deal of the functionality of the apps I'm intending to use.
I have a 3rd generation iPad, a Dell laptop, and a Sanyo projector in my classroom. I've heard that an Apple TV box can accomplish this but I was wondering if there was a cheaper way. Ideally, having whatever is on my iPad displaying on my laptop screen since the laptop is already connected to the projector. I've been told there are simple solutions to accomplish that if I have an Apple laptop but that isn't an option for me.

Nov 27, 2010This is a FYI of my personal problem.I have an Ipad, a morning decided to charge it with a "OEM" china 6 ft cable and wont reach the charge after 8%,
I went crazy.... start to troubleshoot and found out that thre china 6ft cable, maybe don't have the same pins, same cable specifications causing a weak current, I tried with a original cable short version and wala! is getting warm and charging as normal.

May 3, 2012I have the original iPad that currently only gets used by my students in my classroom to play math games. However, starting yesterday when I tried to plug in the iPad to charge I got nothing. Yes, I was using the 10W wall charger and have never used a computer USB port. I've never had a problem with this iPad in the 3 years that I've had it until today. I tried restarting the iPad but it still won't charge unless I plug it in and then turn it off. While it is powered off it will charge at a very slow rate taking anywhere from 8 to 10 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
