Unable To Restore - Requested Resource Not Found?

Nov 23, 2010

I've got an iPad with the 4.2 GM on it, which will lack the fixes in the 4.2.1 GM or the 4.2 release version, however, "Check for update" says I'm running the latest version, and "Restore" says: "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad "Name's iPad". The requested resource was not found."

I've tried this on two different computers, is this a problem with Apple or my iPad? I'm guessing the former.

Any idea how I can get it restored to the latest version?

IPad 2 :: IOS 5.1.1 - Unable To Restore Or Update / No Permission To Access Requested Resource

Sep 4, 2014

I am unable to update or restore my iPad2 from iOS5.1.1 to iOS7.1.2. I have updated my iTunes to version 11.3.1.2, using Microsoft Windows Vista, on the laptop Dell Inc. Inspiron 1545. It keeps giving the error "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad. You do not have permission to access the requested resource". iTunes is an exception to the Windows Firewall, and I even disabled it, still unable to...

IPad :: Won't Restore - Device Isn't Eligible For Requested Build With ITunes 10.6.3

Sep 5, 2014

Ipad to default settings after she accidentally changed the password. I turned off the IPad, held the home button, and plugged it into her computer. A box came up with Itunes detects a device in recovery mode but you must restore the I Pad before it can be used. I clicked ok then Restore. A new box came up saying are you sure, everything will be erased and updated. I clicked Restore and Update. The computer says extracting software... but when it is about __ percent done it says "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build" I checked out the most common reasons for this error and her I tunes is running a10.6.3. I tried the other trouble shooting methods but she does not know her password for her computer and I dont know enough about apple computers to mess with the firewall.

Can't Update / Restore - "this Device Isn't Eligible For Requested Build"

Aug 7, 2011

I just can't seem to be able to figure out what's wrong with my iPad 2. I've tried to update it to 4.3.3 but I always get the following error: "this device isn't eligible for the requested build" or, on a PC, error-code 3194. I've googled the hell out of this, tried pretty much everything (and yes folks, I did download the correct firmware for my device

- edit hosts file (on PC and Mac) in that I delete the gs.apple-line (seems to work for everyone, not for me), tried out TinyUmbrella which does basically the same thing - does not change anything

- tried updating and restoring on 2 Macs (10.7 and 10.6) and 1 PC (Windows 7)

- tried 2 different Firmware-Versions (4.3.3 and 4.3.1)

- tried doing it while iPad is in DFU-/Restore-Mode

Just upgraded my Ipad today, it seems that all is well. Except, my photos won't sync. When trying to sync photos (and only photos) it says '"XXXX's iPad" cannot be synced because file cannot be found'i've tried the following to make it work.

1) turned off sync photos, run sync, turn on again, new sync
2) try setting the iPad up as a new ipad
3) deleting the photo cache file. This is very annoying, hopefully im not the only one having this issue.

Unable To Detect HP D110 / Printer Is Not Found

Nov 28, 2010

I just purchased a new HP D110 specifically to print from my IPad, unfortunately my iPad and iPhone cannot find the printer. The printer connected easily to my wireless network and prints fine from my laptop. The printer, iPad, laptop, and iPhone are all connected to the same network, a Qwest M1000 modem and router. The iPad and iPhone are running iOS 4.2 and the printer downloaded a firmware updated on it's own.

Unable To Sync - Required File Not Found

Jun 10, 2010

Had iPad for about one month now and since yesterday everytime I place in dock to sync with iMac I get error message "The iPad cannot be synched. An Internal device error occurred." Followed by the message "The iPad cannot be synched. The required file cannot be found."

I have attempted several restores of the iPad only to find the problem reoccurs every time. I research some posts and removed "iPod Photo Cache Folder" from Users/Library but it did not work. Setup the iPad as new iPad thinking that the prior backups may have been corrupted. That worked but when it was docked again and then synched it would result in the same problem.

At this point I have restored it as a new iPad but I am not docking it anymore...I re-downloaded purchases apps and books. iPad appears to be functioning fine...wondering if anyone has ideas. I know I can bring it to Apple Genius but problems appear at synch so I am not sure I can replicate with lugging my iMac there too. Very frustrated at the lack of diagnostic utilities for iPad.

Unable To Restore/tried To Restore It But Near The End Its Hang Up

Dec 10, 2010

Hey all I'm having some issues restoring my iPad. I tried to restore it yesterday and right near the end the progress bar (on both the iPad and iTunes) just hung there. After a while I disconnected and tried again. Same issue. So I thought maybe I got a corrupted .ipsw so I re-downloaded and same thing. Tried to restore in my troubleshooting account, same thing.

So I kind of just gave up last night. Today I come home to try and give it another go and this time I received a 1604 error. I changed the usb port I was using (on my '07 Macbook) and it just hung like the night before. I've tried putting it into recovery mode (although I'm pretty sure it's been stuck in it since last night) and restoring and nothing. Tried the troubleshooting account and got a 1604 error once and still getting the progress bar to hang.

I'm not sure what I can do now... it just won't restore. I tried a different usb cable so it's not that. I've yet to try a different computer (will do tomorrow). Don't think it's a software issue with iTunes or the .ipsw. So just looking to see if anyone else can offer some advice before I give AC a call.

Other OS
