Possible - Constantly Connected To Wifi ?

Apr 4, 2012

We have recently received a bill of £350 from our Orange, our mobile phone provider. These charges are apparently for ipad usage which is impossible as the ipad is constantly connected to the wifi in the house. The ipad never leaves the house as it is only ever used by my special needs child. Orange are arguing about this bill and have now reduced it to £50 but we are fighing this charge too!

How To Keep Ipad Constantly Connected To Wifi?

Aug 7, 2010

When I'm at home, my iPad should recognize my own wifi, when I notice that it either does, or does not, I go into the menu settings and click on connect to wifi. It does so until I leave my iPad to idle for whatever reason, when I come back to continue browsing where I left off, it's in 3G mode...does ANYONE know how to solve this problem so that it constantly STAYS on wifi?

Wifi Constantly Drops And IPad 2 Goes To 3G

Jun 29, 2012

I'm almost out of 3G data because my iPad loses my home wifi network every 30 seconds or so. It drops it, reconnects, drops, reconnects, drops and asks me if I want to connect. So frustrating! It didn't do that until recently. I've made no changes to my router or to my iPad. My iPad is a 32 GB iPad 2 with 3G from AT&T. It's running iOS 5.1.1. My router is a TP Link WR940N wirless N router. All my other wireless devices from my HP laptop to my son's custom build desktop, to my iPhone, to my daughter's MacBook play nicely with the wireless. It's only the iPad, and it's driving me nuts! I purchased the data plan to use when I'm on the road for business, but at this rate, I won't have any data left.

Constantly Freeze When Using Wifi Internet Connection

Oct 18, 2010

I am having a problem with N type routers with my Ipad and Iphone 4g

We have in our house 2 ipod touchs, an iphone 4g, and iphone 3g and 2 pc all connected to the wifi.

The iphone 4g and the ipad both constantly freeze when using wifi internet connection all the other devices are fine and receive no interference or loss of signal.

The problem occurs mainly when surfing on safari. Sometime it happens every few minutes.

I think I have narrowed it down to being a problem with n type routers as i use my ipad and iphone at work locations without any problem. All these location have routers on 802.11 a/g and n.

However have tried two different routers a belkin and a netgear at home both which only broadcast N frequency and the problem occurs straight away.

I feel reluctant to downgrade to 802.11 a/g frequent router or slower just to make the ipad and iphone work at the expense of slowing all the other devices down.

Anyone found a solution, have tried suggestions of changing channel, settings on router and ipad/iphone including brightness control detailed in other reports to no avail.

Have just purchased a third router to try using as a repeater to see if i can broadcast signall in 802.11 a/n/and g

IPad 3 With 4g Constantly Loosing Wifi Connection ?

Jun 12, 2012

I have a new iPad 64g with 4g, it has no trouble to pick the wifi signal, but if it's not in using for about an hour, it still shows I have the wifi signal, but won't open any pages. It happens almost all the time, I have to disconnect the wifi and reconnect it again in order to open the pages. Does anybody else have the same issue? Should I change mine in the Apple store?

(how good is the ipad's reception ; how does it compare with a pc's?)

I AM Connected, But The Apps That Require Wifi Connection Says I Need Wifi

Jul 16, 2010

So my iPad 3G is having issues connecting to my wireless internet. I can enter the password and connect to my connection and have the wifi bars at the top appear full bar. But it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I open a browser it asks me to get 3G data plan. It clearly says I AM connected, but the apps that require wifi connection says I need wifi.

Won't Connect To Wifi / But Public Wifi Appears To Be Connected

Sep 14, 2010

I was sitting in the Atlanta airport today and enabled the wifi on my iPad. It recognized something called free public wifi. Touched the screen to enable that, got a check mark and the wifi icon, top left of screen, came on showing the full three bars. However, when I tried to access a web site I got a pop up indicating it could not connect. Regardless of the site, NY Times, Apple, MSNBC, the connection could not be made.
My question is why would the wifi icon come on and the iPad not be able to to make an internet connection?

Won't Work With Wifi / Wifi Saying Its Connected

May 1, 2010

My ipad is a mess. first two pixels were dead...(not a big deal, but i was going to eventually swap it) then i notice blotchy back light bleeding,(more reason to go get it swapped) then i get the wifi issue, (it had been working), wifi says its connected but will tell me i'm not when trying to use the internet, and sometimes asks for the password 500 times then this morning the mic stopped working.

I love my ipad, yet i hate it, so hopefully I get it swapped this weekend

I actually bought my 16gb wifi model yesterday while the huge line for the 3g was there.

Oh and what if they don't have a 16gb wifi model in stock (they were kind of low) would they ask me to come back when they do, or do they ever give a higher model if they have to?

Connected To Wifi Yet Using Up 3G Monthly MB's

Jun 2, 2010

I am at home with my wifi + 3G iPad and it shows it is connected to my wifi at home, yet the iPad has been using up part of my 250mb monthly allotment for 3G use. I have the "cellular data" switch in the "on" position in settings, but I thought it is supposed to automatically use the wifi when you are at home. I thought maybe my wifi was turning off periodically but I turned off the cellular data switch and the wifi works perfectly with a strong consistent signal.
