I just downloaded the FIRST app to my brand new iPad 2 but the icon does not show on the screen. A check of the iTunes store shows the app was installed. I tried a reset (reboot?) per another discussion and that did not work.I also did a power off and restart with the same results.

Last time I saw someone asks why Safari on iPad doesn't show some 1920x1440 jpeg with real size & I solved that puzzle. You have to use a progressive-encoding jpeg. However, I find another different problem.Say, demo.jpg is a progressive-encoding jpeg with 2000x3000 & I upload it to my website. I then access it via url ...demo.jpg, Safari will show it with 2000x3000 size, perfect.
Now I make a most-simple html file named mypic.html. This html has only img tag with src=demo.jpg or src=demo.jpg width=2000 height=3000 inside body. Now I access it via url ...mypic.html. This time Safari show a very small icon of a question mark?

One icon on my iPad is black. I know the icon for this app is not all black. How can I get it to appear as the actual icon rather than all black.

So I am using a jail broken iPad and the categories app to reduce the amount of pages of apps. I have 3 folders, one for cydia and the like, one for games, and one for all other apps. What's odd is that the Cydia folder has it's app icon, but the other two folders only have solid white icons. I have tried respringing, deleting and making new folders but it's the same thing over again.

View 1 RepliesI just noticed that even the little battery icon in the top right does not show the 'lightning bolt' while charging. Instead, it displays a power plug. If i unplug and reinsert the charging cable the icon briefly changed back into the lightning bolt but then switches back to the plug. Why is this?

I recently purchased an iPad 2 running iOS 5, and a friend of mine with the same device and OS has a 5th option on his safari menu bar, whereas I only have 4, being: back, forward, bookmarks, and the "add to bookmarks" icon. He however has an icon after the "add to bookmarks" arrow, that being a cascade/show all open browser windows icon.

I purchased the VGA adaptor assuming that it would simply show the iPad screen on my TV (which has a VGA input) as would normally be the case. I saw this as an advantage over Apple TV which will only stream media content as I understand it.It looks like I was WRONG. Even the the VGA adaptor is apparently only active while media content is being output. I assume that this is supposedly related to DRM. Is this correct? Is there a third party VGA adaptor that works "normally"?
