View 9 RepliesWhen I play voice recorded via external microphone on iPad 2, I can hear static cracking noise. How can I fix up this issue?
View 2 RepliesIt seems that my microphone is muffled whenever I play back a recording.
View 2 RepliesWhen I press the home button sometimes a microphone pops up and a recording asking for support, how and if I can turn this off ,it does go when I press the home button again with a wavy bar across the bottom.
View 2 RepliesHas anyone done any recording with their iPads? There are numerous recording apps for the iPad, I am using one called Audionotes. I am trying to use an external microphone to increase the pickup. Unfortunately, I am getting a lot of BUZZZZZ instead of audio,I've seen many comments online about buzz and external mics.
View 5 Replieswell i was thinking about getting a 3G enabled one to use for school. i use my laptop for taking notes etc now and i think an iPad can be a great alternative. im waiting until june to see what apple has to say about VZW either iphone/ipad related before getting one. i see many topics on here discussing student use but i dont think this has been talked about before. some complain that the keyboard might not be condusive to typing at a rate fast enough to keep up with notes etc but i forgot that the ipad has a microphone in it which led me to thinking that in theory if you wanted too, you could use this to record professors during lectures etc. i dont have an iphone so idk if there is a time limit on recordings such as voice notes so i could be terribly wrong on this.

When I plug it into the CCK the microphone gets power. But I can't record with it. Recording is still going through the internal microphone.
I don't know whether any one is noticing this or not but If you are a free user then you will notice that while performing video chat, a red recording bar comes in to play which probably means Skype call is being recorded by anyone but skype claims that they are not recording anything. What do you say?
View 2 RepliesAnd just yesterday, out of the blue, these static lines appeared. And NO, I did not drop it or spill water on it, or sit on it, or put it on the stove, or put a bag of magnets beside it.This just happened. I rarely turn my iPad off. I don't know if I'm supposed to.It is confined physically to that place. So if I turn the screen, it will still appear in the same place. It is especially noticeable on Safari. For other programs it's still there but less prominent.I've uploaded some pictures. The first 2 shows what it looks like on Safari, with or without a webpage. And the third picture just shows the home toolbar. If you look closely, you can still see the static lines especially when it's on a white background.
View 1 RepliesIf I have earbuds plugged in and nothing is playing (no audio) then I pull up the keyboard I hear a static pop and same when I take it back down. If music has already playing while I'm doing this no static, so I guess it's only when the DAC activates that it plays this static, I can't notice any static in my music or anything only when I first start up a sound when there was none.
Not a gigantic problem but it is fairly irritating, I am running 7.0.3 and haven't updated out of fear of a less stable system.
I recall some static popping I believe on my 4s but I don't think it was quite this noticeable, anyway? Also I should note there is a slight wiggle with the headphone cable while it's plugged in the jack, but when I twist it and press it to either side/wiggle it there's no change in sound or anything so I don't think that's a problem.
This message keeps popping up when i am on the internet (via google or safari) and shuts down my web page. This happens a lot and I don't know how to fix it. It is annoying because I can't really browse a web page since it keeps shutting me down. This Is my first Apple product so not sure what to do? I tried looking to purchase a virus scan or malware scanner but can't seem to find anything available for iPad. I don't have this problem on my computer which is windows or my cellphone which is android.
View 3 RepliesMy ipad is producing a hissing/static noise when the speaker is activated, it can be heard if I put my ear up close, as far as 15 cm away. The hiss stops after a while, can be anytime upto 30 seconds before the hissing stops. I heard a pop whilst watching a youtube video and think it started then.
When typing, can hear a ssshhhh sound?
I have an iPad 2. In the past, I could communicate with other iPad 2 users without problem. I just tried again but I only heard static noise. I could not hear what the other side was talking. However, the other side heard what I said. I updated to iOS 5.1.1 recently. Not sure if this is the cause.
View 2 RepliesWhen I charge my iPad and put my hand against the side of my iPad it feels like a vibration/static. But when I discharge the iPad charger I can't feel anything. Is it a power surge or something?

I'm on my second iPad 4 as the first one was replaced by Apple with a dead screen that looked like this: [URL] .....
It initially was triggered when I pulled the ipad out of my Logitech Ultrathin keyboard cover -- when you heard the magnets click into place the screen turned to static, until eventually the screen was like that permanently.
Thing is, now my replacement iPad's screen is starting to die like this, too.
I know it's highly unlikely the keyboard cover is responsible, but it's the only constant between the two iPads so I figured I'd throw it out there.
Applications close unexpectedly and static when i play music, what can do?

How to connect my ipad using static ip?
View 2 RepliesOur church school has a small wireless network. I try to support it. For some reason, lately it has stopped giving IP addresses to some machines. Wireless, anyhow. Wired still seems to work OK. Most of the teachers have Windows machines and I install a program called NetSetMan which lets them easily switch from DHCP to a static address I have allocated to them. More a workaround than a solution, but it gets them onto the internet. But now some of them are showing up with iPads. I can go to the settings to give them a static IP, but that means it won't work when they go home (most likely). They kind of glaze over when I try to show them the changes to make. Is there an app which would do for them what NetSetMan does for the Windows machines?

View 4 RepliesiPad/Touch connectivity was great until Charter upgraded our router to an SMCd3gn yesterday. We like what the router does for all our other Macs but the mobiles are not happy. I've read about the glories of giving them a static IP but I can't figure out how to do it when our network is DHCP. Do I use the IP address currently assigned on the DHCP screen? The other thing is that we have to use OpenDNS numbers on all the computers or the router is extremely slow, unlike the old one so it's definitely the router. Does this complicate things? If I can make the iPad static could someone tell me what goes where? Surprisingly, this is not yet on the web.
Any one hear crackling static from the speakers that are built into the iPad. I mostly hear it when I put the iPad into sleep mode.
