Where did the memory go?

I have a 64Gb iPad and mainly use this for videos and apps when on the plan. When connected to iTunes it reports that almost 15Gb of memory has been used for Apps, but the largest app I have installed is just 130Mb; I'm have many apps installed however and I suspect that one of them has a large internal store (ie downloaded files like magazines) but how can I find out which? Is there another app or another method which I can which which will report which of my Apps is using the most storage space so I can reclaim some of this?

Thanks in advance.

HI NIck,

With your iPad connected to your computer, in the iTunes window under the Apps tab you can file size of each app. Look under: *Sync Apps* File size is just to the right of the app name.

Try restarting your iPad and see if that makes a difference in app storage.

Disconnect your iPad from your computer. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

Reconnect the iPad and check app storage.

And on the left side of the iTunes window with your iPad connected to your computer, as an example, select Books. In the window on the right, right or control click a book then click: Get Info

The file size is noted in the Get Info panel.

Thanks Carolyn,

Not sure this helps.

I can see the app size in iTunes, but this only reflects the code size; it doesn't reflect the actual usage of storage on the iPad by the app itself; so I have a 10Gb hole and cannot find out which app is using it.

You can't seem to find out on the iPad or on iTunes; it would seem.

Any help appreciated.

Nick
