How do you 'lock your screen' to back it up
Please help. I keep getting a message saying 'you have not backed up your iPad for x number of weeks.' I thought it backed up when you plugged it in to charge.

Depending on where you back up to, you can either back to the Cloud via Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now, and/or if you backup on your computer then connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, right-click the iPad 'device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and select 'back up'.
I back up to the Cloud. It's done it in the last few months, I just don't understand what I'm doing differently now.
Thanks for answering.
I'm not sure that everything is backed up automatically to the cloud - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 says :
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your iOS 5 device.
So it may not automatically do everything.
I backup to both the Cloud and my PC and I occasionally get the 'not backed up message' - in which case I just go into Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and tap on Back Up Now
