how to retrieve erased note

Question

how to retrieve erased note

Just trying to type more info at the end of a page and before I knew it I erased a very long note, can it be retrieved?. I cannot see an "undo" icon. Since I did a sync with iTunes after, not even the "restore" option might help. I hesitate to use it because it says that I'll lose all kind of info as well and I might end with the note still lost plus a bundle of apps and other contents. Very frustrating!

Maybe apple should think of improving Notes.
I thought it was something like OneNote, even in a simpler version, but I am sorry to say that it is proving less then useful. Maybe I should stop using it altogether.

If things get erased for good this easily the program seems useless! Did not even ask for confirmation or anything, just lost!!!! I won't be able to remember all I had in that page!

Can anybody help?

Notes are synched to the Apple Mail application. If you open Mail and view notes you might get lucky and see the note there. If you do then click on it and quickly copy the text to the clipboard and save it in a text file.

How do I open notes in the mail app.? I don't understand this!

The notes are floating in the gadget.

Is there I place where I can get a step by step description of how to do this?

When I open the mail app all I get is my email.

Would be happy to buy any app that would open the recycle bin and restore erased items, at least long enough to copy them or email them to a safe program.

Any help gratefully accepted!!

If you lost the notes before syncing then they are gone. if you lost the note after syncing then go to the mail application you use on your PC/MAC and go to the notes section and the note should be there.

In Mail the notes show up in the sidebar under Reminders. If you do not see that then it may be that you were not synching notes from your iPad, in which case deleting a note on the iPad is likely irreversible.

To see if your iPad is set to sync notes start up iTunes and plug in your iPad to the computer. Then select your iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the main iTunes window you will see a number of tabs across the top: Summary, Info, Apps, Movies, Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, Photos. Click on the Info tab and then scroll down and you will see in the section labeled "Other" that there is a checkbox for synching notes. If that is checked then notes are synched to the Mail app.

Thanks for your help. Now my notes are backed to Outlook. Just like closing the barn door after the horses run away.
Found out Notes could be recovered from past backups if the iPad keeps them. Mine just overwrites the last one. I don't know why!

Probably will never use Notes again.
