What controls Photo Sort Order?

When I sync photos to my iPad, the sort order seems semi-random. I would think it would be sorted by date photo taken, OR file name but the order is neither of these and I don't know how to affect the order.

I have a sequence of 5 photos that I wish to play in a certain order. They were taken in a sequence so the file names are sequential. But the order is first, last, second to last, etc. The first one is first but the remainder are in reverse order.

I have tried to name the photos, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 but the order remains 1, 5, 4, 3, 2

Anyone know how to control the photos sort OR more importantly the photo position in a slideshow?

The default is that they are sorted by date. There are apps that allow sorting on the iPad. You can also sort them on your computer and sync them. However, it is not that easy. There are many past discussions on photo sorting. You can find those by using the search function on the right and search the iPad forum for:
photo AND sort.
Just be aware that there are many pages of past posts.
