QuickTime? It's already there. It's been there since 1.0 on the iPhone. Flash? Yes, if you jailbreak.

No official Flash, too CPU intensive. But there may have been a discussion or an article somewhere after the iPad was released.

QuickTime? You can play some video formats with the Video Player on the iPad, just not every format that QT for Mac OS X recognises.

Seriously? You didn't realize? Well maybe next time we should do some research before making a big purchase? Eh?

Knowing how much Flash turns my MacBook Pro into a hot griddle of a surface, I don't want it anywhere near my iPad/iPhone. I just don't use sites that run Flash, and I'm seeing more and more sites moving away from Flash for that reason.

That being said, if you want to run it you can, just jailbreak it. Not worth the jailbreak personally for me, but others have done it quite successfully.

I didn't realize when purchasing my iPad just how much you CAN'T do on one of these!

Funny. I genuinely find the opposite! I can't believe how I almost never find my web browsing affected by lack of flash!

Can I ask people who have experience with flash on android. . . . Do you get "pop up windows" when browsing on your phone? I mean like any equivalent to all those bloody advert windows that can pop up on my Mac.

Because I have enjoyed not seeing flashing adverts all over the bloody web since I began using my iPad to surf.

Well I have noticed you can't chat while on Facebook on an iPad.

How do you Jailbreak an iPad if you sync it to a Mac???

I never really noticed how much I DIDN'T use flash until I got my iPad.
And like most people have already said, it's mostly just flashy ads and crap.

Also, I've began developing a real hate for Flash when using my MacBook. It gets so hot and noisy and half of the time the YouTube videos stop working if I try to pause it or go back to an earlier point.
Flash is just rubbish.

i just use beejive, since i bought it already for iphone, installed it onto the ipad as it's a universal app and i get facebook chat with msn, yahoo, gtalk all in one and it's always on, much easier than the dodgy unreliable facebook chat thru facebook's own site!!

the frash that was leaked is not the final version, it's a very preliminary build which is why it's very limited, but I don't expect much since the android 10.1 flash is not too good and the one comex is porting is that exact one...

Flash was ported to iPad... Jailbreak and use flash...

Does Frash actually play Flash video now? Last time I checked it did not.

Edit: never mind read a bit closer and see that it still doesn't play most Flash video yet.

What would you attribute your lack of knowledge on the capabilities of the iPas? Could it be that you CAN'T do basic research?

Or maybe it's Apple? They advertise iPads for their ultimate browsing experience without mentioning absence of Flash. Not everybody follows Steve Jobs gripes so when they buy a computer with web browser they just expect Internet to work it usually does.

Nope sorry, not a SJ fan here, nothing wrong with the man, i just don't follow individuals. SJ has to be part salesman. Since I don't have my own IT shop I use J. Q. Public as my test bed. Ho? I do a search like "Problem with such and such" or "features of this or that". I look for forums with allot of posters. Read what they are saying. Does not take long. 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there. There is not excuse for not knowing that the iPad has no flash unless you just landed. As the saying goes "A fool and his money...."
