How can I transfer my music from my Ipod to my Ipad? Is it possible?

I have a PC. The IPOD music is not on the PC. only on the IPOD. I can't figure out how to get the music from my IPOD to the computer so it can be transfered to my IPAD?
Normally, I'd expect iTunes sync to pick up (sync in) music from your iPod. Make sure the settings seem right for that to happen. How did the music get on the iPod in the first place?

iTunes will only transfer iTunes Store purchases back from the iPod to your computer.
We had a computer that died with the original ITunes on it. That is how the IPOD was synced. Since then we left Itunes until I just go this IPAD. I just wanted to use the songs that we had purchased years ago and remain on the IPOD to the IPAD. Seems simple enough. Eh?
Apple suggests backing up all purchased music for just this reason. 🙂
If only life could be that simple.
You can call Apple a plead your case... They must let you redownload the music. If not don't get mad. I have heard of people who lost the music and Apple let them download the music again.
Surely there was SOME backup of the crashed PC??
What kind of iPod is it?
If it's a standard iPod (non an iPod touch), you can just enable disk mode, browse the iPod, and copy your music back into iTunes. (I believe it is in iTunes_Control/Music).
If it is a touch, then you may have to use a program like iFunbox or DiskAid to access its media partition. From that point, it should be the same.
