instant messages sent via ipad2 are showing up on my wifes iphone

I have this same problem! I hope someone sees this & helps us. I think it's because we used the same ITunes. I was told you can add as many devices on your Itunes as you want - but if you connect your device to the SAME Itunes, then it copies everything between the devices. I'm thinking you need to set up a separate USER ACCOUNT & start with a new Itunes in that user account. We'll see if we get any replies.

The two devices are on the same iCloud account. You can actually keep the same iTunes STORE account without having the same iCloud account. On your iOS device, go to settings, and then the iCloud tab. Here, you can choose to delete this account from your iOS device (Not delete the entire account, but just remove it from the phone.) or create a new account. I would recommend setting up one iCloud account for yourself, and one for your wife, while keeping te same iTunes store account so you two can share purchases and other things.
