Classic iPod Camera Connector and iPad

Does anyone know if the camera connector for the iPod classic will work with the iPad?

Aluminum unibody MacBook 13", Mac OS X (10.6.3)

I have the iPod camera connector (I got it with my iPod photo) and it hasn't worked with ANY other iPods I've ever had since then. Since Apple is selling an adapter set specifically for the iPad, it's doubtful.

This accessory cannot be used on this device..... I was unhappy to see that.
