sim card???

So i decided to sign up for the unlimited at&t plan earlier today and At&T sent me a data plan "phone number" to use as reference for them.... What is my sim card #? I am not familiar at all with the sim card and haven't even tried to take it out from the iPad etc... I did try to do something with a password using the settings but i don't know the password?? please advise!
