How do I add a mailbox folder onto my iPad?

I would like to create a misc. purchases folder on my iPad, when I attempt to save an email it asked to tap on a mailbox to save and the only available is trash and inbox. Not sure how to create a new mailbox or file to save my mail in.

Thanks in advance for your help

If it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account (and you will need to create the folder before you try to save an email to it). If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button, ad you will be limited to the folders that you have.

If you have a POP email account then that is a limitation of the POP not the iPad - you might be able to set the account up on the iPad so that it looks like an IMAP account so that you get the Edit button and can therefore create folders, but they will only exist on the iPad, you won't be access the folders or their emails on another computer or device. Does your account provider have an option of upgrading it to IMAP ?
