I pad froze had to factory restore no option to restorefrm iCloud. Still cant reset with iCloud restore. Apple instructions ate crap. How do I get my stuff from iCloud. Apps are not restoring it, had to go to purchased items to get my apps back. Heard good things about iCloud but this makes me bitter that it's not working.

This should assist you in how to backup the data from iCloud. And PLEASE do not just use iCloud as the only backup. Make sure you sync to iTunes as well so you have the content on there as well periodically.
The biggest issue with businesses and residential consumers is they depend too much on cloud storage. It's not 100% reliable either.

Also try going to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. Then turn on and set it up like when new (with iOS 5). During the setup yu have option to restore from iCloud. That is what i did with my phone.
