Wifi Dead but "connected" in settings

Purchased my Wifi iPad on the first day of release, have had no problems what so ever, wifi was always strong, never lost a signal.

Then this evening I picked it up and the wifi icon was missing, safari and any app that uses wifi is not able to connect to the internet.

However in the wifi settings it shows me as connected to my network, full power, and am able to log in and out of it.

Have tried reboots and restores to no avail.

Same here. I tried all the items you can find on the support article- brightness, disabling a band on my dual band router, the lot- no help.
The workaround seems to be to go in settings and turn wifi off and on again.
However I have solved it for me by using another wireless router I had.

So it seems to be router specific in some way (mine was a belkin) but I would still categorize it as apple's resposnisbility. They are keen to make a fix (they emailed me directly when they saw my post here, and they chap on the phone was very helpful) so I would expect one soon.

I would suggest- try all the suggestions in the support article you will find if you google for iPad wifi problem, if those don't work either change your router (perhaps to an apple airport), take it back for a refund or tolerate it and wait for the fix.
