Is there anyway to import photos directly from my camera?

Is there an adapter I can buy? Can I transfer via Bluetooth?

I'm leaving for France Sunday with my iPad and I hate to have to bring my laptop just to sync photos.

Aluminum iMac - 24", Mac OS X (10.6.3), 4GB RAM
