This may have been sorta answered before, but I'm going at a slightly different angle.
I had a MBP for about 4 years before it died. Deciding I didn't need more portability than my iPhone offered, I went with an iMac for the extra power and super-duper display.
Well, now a reason for me to have a notebook is back and another may be in the near future. This soccer team I used to cover has returned from the dead. Before, I used my MBP to cover games and send stories in via WiFi -- when it worked there -- or over a cable.
Here's my question to you owners. I know that with an iPad you can use the BT wireless keyboard, which came with my iMac. Someone I work with uses his like that with the Pages app and loves it. But what I want to know is whether I can take my iPad to a game, flip it to landscape and pretty much have Pages about like you would on a MacBook. Can I create two documents open side-by-side? Does it work in landscape mode? Can I send my work via e-mail? We may be using a new submission system that's Web-based at the time, so the last point may not matter. But I'm still interested in such first-person experience.
I'm also looking into getting a decent telescope. A lot of these decent ones allow picture-taking and I think even hookups to computers. Does anybody have one of these (I'm looking at the Celestron NexStar line) and know what usefulness there is?
When I get an iPad, I'm probably going to go with the Verizon MiFi deal. That way if I can get a signal at the place where we do observations, I could share my connection with a few other people. I can also let my dad use it for his iPad when he and my mom travel instead of a device that is limited to just one iPad.
Thanks for all the input, folks!
