I've got two icons that can't be removed from my iPad. One app was for "Civil war today" and the other "Mercury web browser." I've contacted support and went thru all their suggestions and advice, no go. They made me first removed all the apps, then re-install the apps back to the iPad. That didn't work, so then they had me do a restore to factory settings and that didn't work either. The two icons still remained and couldn't delete them from the iPad either. I got my money back for the civil war app though. They could not figure it out why the problem still exists. I am not going to go thru all that hassle again, so I am stuck with two icons still saying loading. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with any of their apps that couldn't be removed nor be updated. The original downloads for those apps worked fine, but when it came time to update them the problem started. I'm not willing to try anything drastic again because twice was enough thru apple support. I just wanted to let everyone know it can happen.  Other apps update without a problem and no problem with the iPad itself.

Thanks for the replies. No the iPad isn't jailbroken and nobody uses the iPad but me and the wife. Tried the turning off and on a few times but the two icons still just say loading. The several support people couldn't fix the problem, so I just have to live with the two "loading" icons. I spent several hours with different support techs and they couldn't fix it. 

Tap the loading icons and see what happens. If that doesn't work than restore the iPad in iTunes.

Just yesterday I had a somewhat similar issue where "loading" icons would not update. I just shut it off (really turned it off), turned it back on again.

I checked for updates on iTunes and there was one, downloaded it, then tapped the icons and they started downloading.

I still fail to see how they could still be on the iPad after a full system restore.
