How and where do you get a mini sim card for a new iPad? Does it work with the iPhone? I'm just saying this because I got a new iPad as a gift and it doesn't have a sim card, so how do I get one?
And what plan does it come with?
Make sure your iPad is not wi-fi only first. If it is a wifi+3G, you'll need a sim from a wireless provider like Verizon or AT&T , then sign up for an iPad data plan. If you wish to use the LTE
You can pick your provider. Most carriers offer data plans for iPads, giving you access to their 3G networks.
If you with to use LTE, then you are tied to the carrier specified by the model iPad you own; either AT&T or Verizon. Look in the small print on the back of your iPad. Model A1430 is AT&T, A1403 is Verizon. LTE currently works in the USA only.
If you have an iPhone already, then it may be easier / cheaper to use this as a Personal Hotspot. You will need to make sure that your iPhone plan allows tethering, but that may be cheaper than paying for an additional plan.
So, how do you get it? Do you just go to the ATT.com and order one?
Like, can I go to ATT.com, get on a data plan for the new iPad and just get it in the mail or something?
Would that sim card also work if I put it inside my iPhone?
If I were you, I would try to find a local retailer who can set you up.
