iPad wireless keyboard questions

Hey everyone,

I already have a dock - I'm interested in the bluetooth keyboard, but won't be using it all the time. I'd like to use it sometimes and use the onscreen at other times (on the go or for quick text).

To do this, do I need to disable/enable bluetooth each time? Does bluetooth enabled drain the battery faster (and if so, by how much)? If I disable bluetooth and then re-enable it, do I need to re-sync the keyboard or will it remember the settings?

I use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. To disable it and use the onscreen keyboard, you can do one of three things: 1) turn off BT on the iPad, 2) turn off the BT keyboard, or 3) step out-of-range from the keyboard and type on screen. No, you do not need to re-sync later.

I do not notice the battery drain, as my BT keyboard is mostly in sleep mode. I do wish that both can be enabled at the same time, but they can't. Hope this helps.

You can also use the Eject key on the wireless keyboard to switch between wireless and onscreen keyboards. This works well - as long as you have your wireless keyboard with you. I'm yet to find an equivalent way to switch between the two using only the onscreen keyboard (which is pretty important if your iPad is switched to wireless keyboard and you're in a meeting and your wireless keyboard is at home)
