...launching ipad at the wall.

Why all of a sudden has safari started to crash? Over the last week id say.
I will just close without warning and put me back on the springboard.

I have not jailbroke my ipad either. (ipad 2)

My iPhone's been doing that ish too. Happens on a daily. I don't know what's changed in iOS 5 for that to happen.

But out of curiosity, is you iPad storage space maxed out?

Try clearing out safaris cache and data. It still crashes from time to time but not every two minutes like it did when I first updated to IOS5. Alternatively, put safari into private mode.
