As bob indicated, one only need be 13 to have an Apple ID. Should the person in question be younger than that, a parent could always create a second ID in their own name for the child to use for iMessage/Facetime.

You can log out of your Apple ID in Settings->Messages->Apple ID, and Settings->iCloud->Delete Account in your Daughter's phone to separate it from those services.


However, if she still wants to message, and have her own pictures in the her own Cloud then yes you need to create a secondary Apple Id she can use for those services.


If the child is not of the required age (13 as has been said), the adult has the capacity to create an Apple ID by setting the birth date to a valid one above 13 years of age, assuming responsibility for any actions performed with said Apple ID by the child.
