ipad disabled connect to itunes

My daughters friend tried to use her ipad and exceeded the number of log in attempts and disabled the ipad. The message says ipad disabled connect to itunes. The problem is that we never connected it to itunes. She has over $100 of music and apps that I do not want to lose. What options do we have?

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:

1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.

2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone

3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad

4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen

5. Release the Home button

6. Open iTune

7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"

8. Use iTune to restore iPad

Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

if you never backed up your ipad to itunes or never have backed it up to icloud then your only choice is to erase the device from www.icloud.com or another ios device running find my iphone. and to restore from scratch

remember : anything purchased from the ipad store is never lost. neither is anything on icloud, such as contacts, email, etc. you will never lose your actual apps or music that you have purchased, you will just need to erase the ipad and set it up again. this may require you to remove the device form your icloud account as well

i do not think that putting the ipad in recovery mode will be effective

you will lose all your text messages. and probably photos / videos.

icloud only keeps photos (and videos for ios 7) for 30 days

if you foget your icloud password you can always go to apple's iforget page

you just erase the ipad, remove it from your icloud account, set it up again, log on to your itunes and icloud accounts on the ipad, go to the app store, and music store, click on purchases, not on this ipad , on the music stores u click on the little cloud with the arrow on it, you just click on them all and download everything back. after its done, make sure to back up the ipad to a computer running itunes or make sure icloud back up is on. icloud backup will not back up as much stuff as itunes backup would, though

you would have to forget your itunes/icloud passwords and have no way to get the passwords changed to lose any music or apps that you have purchased.
