I am totally surprise that apple has not released any updates for the iPad.

I know there are several bugs and they have not been addressed as of yet.

Yet, I read today that 4.01 IOS4 is in testing..

iPad, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Others have posted that some time this fall iOS 4 will come to the iPad.
Whether or not that is true or not is still a matter of timing. I'd rather a fully tested software gets released and they spend time releasing it, than releasing it too early without enough testing done. You will always find some items that are not tested even if it is tested for years on end. But some point every company has to decide the point of diminishing returns on producing a product. Let Apple do it on its own schedule. In the meantime, continue posting here:

Any suggestions you may have.

Each day the chances of a point release for the iPad seems less and less likely. The iOS3.2 released on the iPad is obviously an interim build that was forked from the main iOS3.x branch exclusively for this device and is essentially a developmental dead end. No argument that there's bugs, but for the most part they're not game breaking and resources devoted to the various stages of addressing them (coding, regression testing, etc) would pull away relevant resources from development of iOS4. While not impossible that Apple may address them, I really couldn't blame them for not taking the time to fix errata on a dead OS.

And voilà! iOS 3.2 for iPad is out, timed to make me look absolutely as foolish as possible.

Don't you know they were just waiting for you to say something? It's amazing!

Actually, I agree. I can't imagine that they're investing much time in further upgrades to iOS 3.2. It is curious that it came out at the same time as iOS 4.0.1, so there might have been a few common bug fixes between the two.

Before jumping the bandwagon, make sure all your third party software is tested with the update by their developer, before applying it yourself. Already reports of slower app response time and Internet both in WiFi and 3G are coming in, and this suggests app design is still largely dependent on the tools available at the time the software was made. With each update, those tools become less in sync with what is available.
