Exchange Account setup

I've got a feeling I'm simply nitpicking here, but....
I'm having issues setting up my Exchange account on my iPad (and iTouch). The only way I can get it set up is by going through my companies OWA server (webmail.company.com). I've tried entering the server I use at work (cty-52N-EXM01D.abc.acme.com), but just get the "Unable to Verify" message
FWIW, I'm almost certain my companies IT Dept considers the iPad - and anything else from Apple - to be a toy.

I'm not an expert but it seems to me that will be the only way it can make the connection, unless you join your ipad to your companies domain/network.

I too got that error but it turned out to be false. The iPad connected fine via the OWA server even though it said unable to verify. In other words, that error could be real or false. For me, luckily the it was a false error.

I attempted to set up exchange account and 8 out of 10 times get the cannot verify account error message.
When I clear the cache from network settings I get the option to accept certificate. The set up completes but I get no mail, contacts, nor anything Outlook related.
I wish I didn't order 10 of these things already. I have an $8000 pile of crap on my desk.
Has anyone a solution?

I got the verify account error as well. I went into active directory on our exchange server and noticed my account had been locked out. Once I unlocked it and went through the process again it set up fine. All contacts, calendar and email folders are syncing perfectly.
