So I am wondering how big the iPad's screen really is comparing.. (Don't say 9.7") Is it as big as an pocket book? Or what can I compare it too. Haven't seen one since they aren't out here yet.

Also, if I buy mine in another country, and I do text input with pages or some kind of text editor, can I set it so that it correct my spelling in my own language or just doesn't correct it at all? Since that would be a real pain in the arse if it keeps correcting dutch to german.

Thanks!

I don't have mine yet waiting on 3g but I have used a friends and the screen size was a little small in my opinion however adequate. I haven't canceled my order.

The iPad in Apple's case is about 1 inch shorter than an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and about 1/2 inch narrower. Subtract another 1/2 inch on all sides for the bezel around the screen and you get an idea of the screen size. I grabbed a crappy low res image of an iPad, then printed it to just about fill an 8.5x11 or A4 page. If you print this out, you get a good approximation of the size of the iPad, just don't pay attention to the appearance of the graphics as I was worried more about size than looks.

hope this helps...

Cut a piece of paper to the size Apple says it is and hold that in your hands.
