I am having an issue getting my notes to sync between the iPad3 and iPhone 4s, under settings-notes the default account is gmail with no option for icloud account the iPad is set to iCloud account. Also iPad has cloud backup on, iPhone does not due to not enough space in cloud storage.

Is your iCloud account setup as a mail account on your phone? I had this same problem and had to have an iCloud mail account setup on both even though I don't use it for email.

EDIT: to clarify, go to settings/mail and setup your iCloud account here. If it's already here, make sure you have notes turned on.

Settings>Notes

Default account>iCloud

The end ;)

Did you read the OP's post? He doesn't have an iCloud option in the Notes accounts. I'm about 80% certain the problem is that he doesn't have an iCloud email account set up on his iPhone, the same thing happened to me.

there are three separate settings that apply to notes and to iCloud:

1. Settings/Notes/default account
2. Settings/iCloud/Notes "on"
3. Settings/Mail..../iCloud/Notes "on"

When I didn't have an iCloud account setup in #3, I didn't have iCloud as an option in #1 but could turn on #2...all three conditions need to be met in order to sync notes...at least that's how it worked for me.

Considering Apples a world class company, the documentation as it applies to iCloud is woefully lacking. That in combination with Apples rather modest progress in developing & delivering the service they've advertised, lends one to think that it'll be quite a while before iCloud becomes fully functional.

That said, Apple remains in the cat bird seat. With a closed & locked Eco-System they have a captive audience, with no choice but to wait. Apple is nothing if not clever :)

I use a third party cloud storage system, CX.com which gives 10GB FREE storage to start with. Its easy to set up, see my video:

Hope it helps.
