How to handle Spam on iPad's crippled Mail program?

Mail on my MacBook intelligently filters spam emails, but I can see no way to set filters on the iPad - which is a real pain!

Most emails that reach my iPad turn out to be spam, but I can't flag them.... can anything be done, or do we just have to wait for an upgrade?

And while I'm grousing - when will the iPad get an o/s upgrade, to at least the new iPhone level?

the ipad will be updated to a OS similar to iOS4 in the fall. Apple has not given a date yet. You should look at spam filters on your email from the web client. That should help hold you over until the "fall".

Filtering should be done on your email provider's end before it gets to you.

Filtering IS being done on my server - I use Spamcop, which is among the best possible - but some spam still gets through.

If Mail on the Mac can handle spam filtering, why does the iPad have a crippled version?

Sigh....

Because the mail app is not meant to function as a desktop mail client. If it was, then you would see features such as filtering on it. Can you setup additional filtering rules on your server to prevent spam? What sort of email system are you using: POP, IMAP, Exchange?
