I think it is a crash, it suddenly goes black and takes me to the desktop. This was occurring this morning as I was browsing Apple.com's HTML5 showcase page. I've done a restore without effect, and am doing another now. Also I seem to have to 'click' on links several times, before they are submitted.Mac Pros; MacBook Pros Powermacs and others (680x0->Intels))Mac OS X (10.6.3)Mac User since 1984; Iv never had to use Windows :-Q
I have been having crashing problems the last 2 weeks when I am on safari, I am having some sites crash and I end up at my home screen. I have been using other app's for some time without crashing, now like safari, a few of those are crashing also, always back to home screen.I have not backed up since April, but do update my app's, and I also have not upgraded the OS, and until about 2 weeks ago everything worked almost as well as it should have, except for the ongoing wifi problem that seems better now with some work arounds. Is this problem due to the app's, or more problems with the Ipad?
Since this morning, Safari on my iPad 1 (V. 4.3) will open for a second then close automatically. I have tried to open it many many times and the same happens every time.
All other Apps were originally ok, but now some others are doing the same too. (since restoring)
1) Deleted History & Cookies.
2) Powered off numerous times and left off for a while.
3) Restored the iPad and reinstalled a back up. (See note below)
4) Removed the Apps that I installed over the last few days
5) Soft Reset (Pressing Home & Power button at same time)
Unfortunately, I did a back up this morning so can only restore my iPad to the backup of this morning which seems to have have the same problems.
Has anyone else noticed Safari crashing on the IPad since the 4.2.1 update?
It does not seem to matter which website that I go to. Usually a newspaper or a weather site will make it crash. I can restart Safari and go right back to the site with no problem at all. It's the initial load of the site that will crash Safari.
Safari on my iPad is crashing fairly frequently; sometimes when I restart it retains the pages that were previously open, and sometimes not.
Have not yet established a pattern, but it seems prevalent on very large pages (for example pages with many images) and on pages with embedded video (particularly Flash).
Anyone else experiencing the same issue and/or have any further information? Anybody using a browser other than Safari on the iPad?
I got my iPad yesterday and used it without a problem for about 6 hours. Today however Safari has crashed twice and required a full OS restart to get it going again.
My iPad 2 with 3G and 32GB storage is having problems with Safari crashing. In Settings, I cleared Safari web info but Safari is unusable and all web pages crash and then goes back to the desktop. Web pages load to about 90% before it quits. Something is definitely wrong with this iPad.
Is this some kind of joke Apple threw in with 5.0? Safari is crashing every 5 minutes when viewing web pages, this is unacceptable. Only have had this problem since upgrading to 5.0.
iPad (V1 32GB) running 5.0
So far, I've cleared the cache and history and it still crashes constantly.
I have the First generation iPad. Lately, safari has been crashing constantly. Actually a lot of applications are also. I did a full restore and nothing changed. Anyone else has this issue?
I have the iPad 3G 32gb and jail broken. I have had no problems with my device except this one problem that happens randomly but not a lot. Safari crashes. Doesn't matter what I'm doing it just closes. I'm am still on 3.2 obviously.
When I attempt to scroll down (gesture) to see further down my gallery, safari closes and puts me back to the home page on my 32GB iPad. Information: iMac 24, 3Gs iPhone OS 3.1.3 2,16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
the last week it has recently started crashing when using safari, so I toke everything off and did a restore then put everything back on, it worked for about 2hours and then started crashing again.
If it were any other app I'd delete it and reinstall but you can't really do that with safari.Sometimes it's fine, other times it will crash out several times, usually as I'm typing something like this. It usually waits until I've almost finished and then Pulls the plug, losing everything I've written in the process.
Seems to crash every few minutes. Just shuts down then I'll open it and it goes back to the same page. I've cleared it out, reset settings and still the same.
Starting about a week ago, safari and Netflix have been crashing on a regular basis. Loading regular web pages(CNN, wunderground), has proven to be difficult.
