Erasing Imported Pictures From Camera On It?

Jun 6, 2012

I am trying to erase pictures on my iPad, which now is full of photos. And no success. One common way is to erase the photos on my computer, and then sync. Apart from being a awkward procedure (why make it impossible to erase pictures on the iPad directly?), the photos are not synced, they are imported from the cameras card directly into the iPad. No computer involved. Another way is to reset the iPad completely. Not an alternative, if I can avoid it. Do I really have to reset the device, thus erasing everything, just to get rid of the imported pictures?

Delete Pictures From IPad 2 Which Were Imported From A PC?

Trying to delete pictures from iPad 2 which were imported from a PC. I saw the posts. Just wondering if Apple has fixed this yet so the delete key can be used instead of syncing. If not, this needs to be fixed!

Prior Synced Pictures Attempt To Be Re-imported Each Time Is Connected

Apr 23, 2010

This may be a very simple adjustment. I recently purchased an app that provides background scenes for the iPad and added a few backgrounds to my photo gallery on the device. I then synced the device with my macbook and as expected they were imported into iPhoto. However, I chose not to delete them off the iPad for the obvious reason of having them available to change background from time to time. However, the problem is that now with each new sync iPhoto wants to re-import them. I like this feature but would prefer that it not repeat after photos have already been uploaded. Is their a setting or adjustment to stop this from happening each time the iPad is synced.

Imported Camera Movies Won't Copy To Pc

May 23, 2011

I have an IPAD2 and a Sony T99 cybershot. When I take movies with the camera, they save as both MP4 and THM formats. I imported the movies to IPhotos, and it shows them there as a merged file (MP4+THM). but when i connect to my pc to copy them over, they are all THM, and none will play. I can't even conver them to MP4 using a converter software - it won't recognize the THM format.

how to get the MP4 versions copied over ?

Camera Connection Kit - Delete Imported Photos

Oct 19, 2010

After importing photos with the connection kit, can you then delete selected photos from the iPad without connecting to a computer? I'd like to use the iPad for photo storage when traveling (without a computer) and use the iPad for initial review and then delete obvious rejects to save space. The iPad documentation seems to imply that you can only delete photos from the camera, not the iPad (unless you sync with the computer).

How To Upload Imported Photos From Camera To IPad 2

Jul 23, 2011

What I want to do; import photos from my camera to the iPad 2, weed some out, edit a few more, and later upload (sync?) the remaining edited photos to my PC. Importing .jpg photos from my SD card via Apple's Camera Connection Kit worked perfectly. And editing photos with Photos and Photoshop Express was a breeze; but I can't get them into my PC.

I created a new directory on the PC to receive them, selected this directory in iTunes under the Photo tab while the iPad was connected, and clicked Apply. On the first attempt, iTunes crashed. The second attempt resulted in a new directory and two mystery files created in the PC directory. The new directory is named "iPod Photo Cache". The files are "Photo Database" (no suffix) 2 KB, and "PhotoDatabaseReserve.tmp" 1 MB.

I tried opening "Photo Database" with iTunes, but iTunes just came up with no photos in it (where would they go anyway?). I also noticed that the edited pictures I saved in Photoshop Express were in album Camera Roll intead of All Imports, where they came from. At least the pictures are still in the iPad somewhere, and on the camera's SD card.

Cannot Delete Imported Event From Camera Connection Kit

I deleted my vids that I had imported via Camera Connection Kit and i instantly got a bunch of empty event folders on the photo app! They are empty so it is impossible to delete them!

I could only find one source for this bug with a solution that didn't work for me. Apart from this nothing else in the entire net!

Does Places Work With Photos Directly Imported From A Camera?

Nov 7, 2010

My partner is buying her mother an iPad for Christmas, and a camera which features geo-tagging.On the iPad user guide downloaded from the Apple support website, it doesn't specifically state that the Places feature requires a Mac. It states: "Photos organizes collections by Albums, Events, Faces, and Places. Places uses the location information encoded within each photo, and not all photos may have this information. Events and Faces must first be configured in iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac, then synced to iPad."But on the iPad Features section of the website, it states:"iPad works seamlessly with Faces and Places in iPhoto for the Mac, so you can view your photos not only by date and event but also by who's in them and where they were taken."

Delete Or Manage Photos Imported With Camera Connection Kit?

May 3, 2012

1. I can open the imported photos directory and mark photos individually for deletion - doesn't make sense when I'd like to clear the folder and delete hundreds of photos at once.

2. I can hoop up the iPad to my computer (Windows) and view the DCIM folder and pick some of the sub folders to clear - but I have lots of folders on my iPad and there is no easy way to figure out which were imported photos and which were not.

I generally import photos for backup and viewing when we're traveling but keep them on my SD card. Once I get home I copy them from the card to my computer and organize them into folders, sorting and eliminating photos I don't want to keep. I then put the completed folders back into my iPad via sync but this makes the original imported photos uncessessary

Is there any easy what to manage and/or delete the imported photos that would be easier than the steps I identified in 1 and 2 above?

Downloaded Pictures To Ipad 2 With The Camera Kit Lost The Pictures

Jul 1, 2011

I downloaded some pictures to my iPad 2 with the camera kit and it shows it imported them but when I go to camera roll they aren't there. I went into settings into Picture Frame and check marked "last imported" but I still don't see them in my camera roll. Did I miss a step? The only way I can view them is with the SD card plugged into the camera kit hooked into my iPad.
