Camera Connection Kit And SONY Cyber Shot - Upload My Photos

Apr 16, 2012

I'm going on vacation soon so I decided to buy the Apple Camera Connection Kit so that I can upload my photos to my iPad and share them with family/friends. I have the first generation iPad, and a Sony CyberShot. My camera doesn't use an SD card (it has a pro duo-something), so I use the USB hub and a wire to connect to my camera. Once I plug my camera (set at PTP) into my iPad, with the wire and connection kit, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Is it because Sony is not compatible? Or is the kit not compatible with the first iPad?

Sony Cyber-Shot & Camera Adapter

Sep 8, 2010

I recently bought the Sony Cyber-Shot w310 digital camera. Now, I don't yet own the Apple camera adapter kit, so I'm hoping somebody here has both of these items and can tell me if it's fully compatible. I'm particularly interested to know if videos taken on the Cyber-Shot will transfer and play with no problem.

Using Camera Connection With A Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo

May 8, 2010

Hey, first time post. Just joined the community. First time Apple owner.

My friend has an iPad with the camera connection kit and it works with his iPad and camera with his card which is a little bigger than mine.

I tried using my Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 1gb but it would not come up on either device. Is this type of card not supported?

Camera Connection Kit Video Import With Sony W350?

Dec 8, 2010

I'm having trouble having video imported via the camera connection kit. All of the photos are in a DCIM folder and they import just fine via the SD reader. The videos are stored in a different folder at the same level as the DCIM folder but the iPad does not recognize the video folder. The Sony W350 is recording video at 720p.

I did a test where I copied a video to the DCIM folder and the iPad then found and imported it although I could not play it. The file format is *.mp4.

Is there a way to get the iPad to import from a folder other than the DCIM folder or a way to have my Sony w350 save video to the DCIM folder? Is there an app that will do this?

Watch Footage Shot On A Sony Cybershot On IPad?

Mar 17, 2011

I have a Sony Cybershot camera. When I shoot video on it and plug it into my iPad it shows up all the video files alongside the pictures taken, perfect! I choose one to import and once it is on my iPad it simply has an image of a camera and MP4 written on.

If I try to do anything with it it says MP4+THM on the file. I cant seem to change how the camera names the files or make the ipad identify the file type. In other words I cant open the video once it's imported.

Upload Photos From Camera?

Jun 15, 2010

I'm thinking about buying the Camera connection kit, and have a question in this regard for anyone who has used it already to load photos from his/her camera to iPad ...

I've noticed when syncing a bunch of photos from my computer to iPad that iTunes "optimizes" them for iPad. I'm assuming this means reducing the resolution to suit the iPad display.Would it be the same with photos loaded from a camera, and what happens to them when you decide to import them into iPhoto again? In other words, ... is there a loss of resolution?

Upload Photos Taken By Camera To Website?

Apr 26, 2012

Other that iCab is there any way to upload a photo taken by the camera on an iPad to a website? Is the only way to do this is to create an application that is installed on the iPad and then accesses the camera itself on the same device? We are trying to decide to create a mobile application that can be used on all tablets or an application that is installed on the iPad.

How To Upload Imported Photos From Camera To IPad 2

Jul 23, 2011

What I want to do; import photos from my camera to the iPad 2, weed some out, edit a few more, and later upload (sync?) the remaining edited photos to my PC. Importing .jpg photos from my SD card via Apple's Camera Connection Kit worked perfectly. And editing photos with Photos and Photoshop Express was a breeze; but I can't get them into my PC.

I created a new directory on the PC to receive them, selected this directory in iTunes under the Photo tab while the iPad was connected, and clicked Apply. On the first attempt, iTunes crashed. The second attempt resulted in a new directory and two mystery files created in the PC directory. The new directory is named "iPod Photo Cache". The files are "Photo Database" (no suffix) 2 KB, and "PhotoDatabaseReserve.tmp" 1 MB.

I tried opening "Photo Database" with iTunes, but iTunes just came up with no photos in it (where would they go anyway?). I also noticed that the edited pictures I saved in Photoshop Express were in album Camera Roll intead of All Imports, where they came from. At least the pictures are still in the iPad somewhere, and on the camera's SD card.
