Single Dead (black) Pixel Near The Center Of The Screen
Aug 16, 2010
last night I noticed a single dead (black) pixel near the center of the screen. Is this unusual? Should I take it an apple store and get it replaced or just learn to live with it?
Today I freaked out over a line of dead pixels (with a dark black pixel at the center and then it fades away to the top and bottom of the screen) on my iPad 2 screen. I tried some YouTube videos with colored backgrounds but I read it is not effective for dead pixels (black). Also, I noticed that the line is aligned with one of folding lines of the smart cover so I thought it was the reason.
After cleaning my iPad with a microfibre cloth this afternoon, everything got nice a clean except for 1 small white piece of dust right in the center of the screen. I tried some elbow grease, rubbing harder in small circular motion, wiping up and down.....a little moisture...nothing will get it off.It wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't in the dead center of the screen. I see it when the iPad is on or off, and it is particularly annoying when reading as the eye just automatically gravitates to it
Just wanted to let anyone that's interested I just got back from taking my iPad 2 into Apple today as there is a dead pixel in the middle of my screen. The genius came out and looked at it, and said he needed to take it to the back for further inspection. He came out about 10 minutes later and told me that they will replace it, but would have to order it since the don't actually have any in stock. So now I just have to wait for them to call me with my new iPad ready, but there better not be any bad backlight bleeding or any more dead pixels, because I'm not having that.
White Dead Pixel After A Month Of Use - White Dot Only Visible On Black Backgrounds
Apr 10, 2012
I got my iPad on launch day and to my surprise - I didn't have any dead pixels, wifi issues, backlight bleeding, yellow tint, etc. It was a perfect iPad! So of course, I've been enjoying it for the past few weeks. I even put a screen protector and skin three days ago.
Yesterday, while watching a YouTube video - I noticed a small white dot only visible on black backgrounds. I pulled the dead pixel test, and noticed this white dot that is only visible in dark / black backgrounds. It is not black, but white.. so I tried massaging it and playing this youtube video that is supposed to remove stuck pixels by flashing all sorts of colors - but it is still there.
Now some will say that it was probably there all along, but I really checked every week or so to make sure there was nothing wrong with it! It definitely just popped up yesterday. And unlike many - I really do NOT like returning iPads! It's odd that this pixel randomly popped up! Is there a fix for this? I really don't want to return it as it is pretty much perfect (except for this REALLY TINY issue). I didn't get AppleCare and my 14 days have obviously passed, so I can't return it, right?
57 days ago I bought a iPad and my headphones have broke and there is a dead pixel on my iPad and it is really annoying! What shall I do? (I bought it from a comet store)
I have found a dead/stuck pixel on my iPad 2 screen and not sure what I should do about it. The problem is, this is my fourth unit due to light bleed issues and the other 3 replacements I have had have also had scratching on the back, straight out of the box. The unit I have now is the best one I have had - less light bleed issues and a flawless backing. Only issue now is that I have found this dead pixel. It is really obvious and really annoying but I don't know whether to take it back because of all the trouble I've already had with the previous units.
Dead Pixel While Opening Netflix Or In Red Screen Portrait
Apr 13, 2010
I received my iPad in the mail on the third. On Saturday night, I noticed the screen was bleeding on the side so I called Apple support and they set up an appointment with me to exchange my iPad for a new one. Now I have a pretty minor issue with the new one. I have a dead pixel when I open up the Netflix app or when a red screen is shown only in portrait mode. There are no other issues with it. Is that a reason enough to get that replaced or even get replaced with a 3G whenever it comes out? I might wait a week and maybe by then we get the announced 3G date and still be within the 14 day return date.
Dead Pixel At The Bottom Right Corner And A Stuck Pixel Near Top
Jul 9, 2011
I just bought a 64gb white and have one dead pixel at the bottom right corner and a stuck pixel near top right should I return ? There not very big but now that I know where they are I can't help but notice them every time I use it. I just bought the iPad the other day from Target and don't have any apple stores near by.
Got A "Dead" Pixel More Of A Bright Spot On My Screen ?
Apr 4, 2010
I have a dead pixel, its more of a bright spot on my screen, Larger then a pixel, its a small area, where its brighter then the rest of the image, on white backgrounds its really noticeable, like when reading a book.
Within 12 hours of (finally) updating my still-new iPad, a major issue popped up. In the appearance of a dirty red/orange spot on the top-right portion of the screen. I'm unsure if it's a software issue or a hardware glitch, as... It only appears on brightness above 40%. Bringing up the app switching bar (by double-pressing the Home button) makes it disappear. In MyPaint (the app I use most on my iPad) above 40% brightness it didn't appear even in a completely black portion of the screen.
Just got my new iPad 32/3G but I think there is a problem. Indeed i saw a mark on the black frame (right in the middle/ under the glass) I saw any of these "marks" on the models in store (but there was only wifi ones)
I got my wife an iPad for Mothers Day and I noticed last week that there is a dead pixel right in the middle. It bugs the hell out of me but I didn't want to tell her because she hasn't noticed yet. If I got it in May is it to late to trade it out for a new one with a 100% working screen?
Just got my iPad 3G on Friday and just noticed a dead pixel on the right side of the screen. Called apple care and they made me an appt at a retail store. Will they replace my iPad or just replace the screen
