I'm having no trouble playing videos from Facebook on my iP4 running IOS 4.3.Now that that is out of the way, why can't I play videos from Facebook in Safari on the iPad? It has worked in the past, but I can't figure out why it isn't working now. I thought updating to IOS 4.3 might help things, but it made no difference. I get a still image, but no play controls. I tried turning off the pop-up blocker, but that made no difference. I tried clearing the cache, clearing the cookies, rebooting, etc., etc. all to no avail.
When I try to play videos on Facebook through Safari on my iPad 2, it shows black video and says ‘need flash player to play the video. I was able to watch those videos two days before. I dont know what happened now; can anyone help me locate the issue?
I use Friendly for Facebook, and cannot find a way within that app to upload a video from my iPad2. I tried going to Facebook using Safari, but that won't let me upload either. I just want to post a video of my daughters' Birthday, for family back home.
Unable To Watch Any Videos On Facebook Through Safari
Jul 5, 2012
2 days ago I suddenly was unable to watch any of the videos on Facebook, when accessing FB thro Safari. Prior to this I was able to watch these videos. The video is either black or says I need flash player, 2 days ago I could watch these same videos. I can see the videos on the FB app on my Ipad 1. But then I'm not able to quickly locate a video I've posted, as videos are not listed on my photo page, I have to scroll through my or a friend's timeline to locate the video I wanted to watch again. I've turned the Ipad off and on, and have restarted safari, but no luck.
I don't know if this has been documented or not but apparently any video that will play in Safari will play out to your TV. I discovered this by accident. I was using the YouTube app (connected to my TV) to play some videos and couldn't find a particular video. I then launched Safari and did a video search there and found the video I wanted posted on dailymotion. Well I was quite surprised to find the video playing on my TV. I've since tried many other video sites as well as stored video files on sites/servers and if they were playable in Safari, they played out to the TV.
I just thought some users might find this info helpful.

Up until a couple of days ago, i could play videos on youtube both on the actual original ipad Youtube app that it comes with on your homescreen and as the regular website which you visit on your browser on [URL] I don't know if it's just me, but i prefer just using safari and then going to youtube. Now for some reason, when i use safari and go to youtube, the homepage screen displays fine, but as soon as you try to tap on the play button, the display screen (not the whole screen) turns blank and you can only hear the audio play and only the bottom half comments and description window is all you see, but the actual vid doesn't play and stays blank. Now if i use the actual youtube app on the homescreen, it works fine. The youtube website version doesn't play videos. This is so weird and is a nuisance.

IPad Mini :: Unable To Play Videos On YouTube App Or In Safari?
Sep 12, 2014
son has an ipad mini and for the last year and a half has spent many hours a week watching Minecraft videos on the Youtube app without any problems. About a week ago my son showed me that when trying to play a video via the Youtube app the audio would play fine whereas the video playback is stuttering and completely out of sync with the audio. I thought that it may just be the app so I tried watching a video via safari but it was the same issue. I then thought I would try watching movie trailer from a random website but that wont play smoothly either.
IPad 3 Says ‘no Facebook Account Registered While Uploading Photos Or Videos Into Facebook
Oct 17, 2012
Every time, I try to upload either photos or videos from iPhoto or Camera Roll in my iPad 3 running on IOS 6 to Facebook, it says “there is no facebook account and you need to register your account after going to settings page”. Facebook used to load into my iPad and I have checked my account through it. Therefore, I am sure that my iPad do recognize my facebook account. In what way can I make my iPad upload the photos or videos successfully?
Unable To View Facebook Posts - Safari Crashing On Facebook Pages
Apr 18, 2010
I have noticed that Safari on my iPad will crash out while I am checking my Facebook. It usually happens when I reach posts that are about 12-14 hours old. I tried clearing my cache (thinking that might be responsible), but it didn't seem to help. Is it possible that I am running into some sort of wall as far as Safari's buffer is concerned? Anyone else having a similar problem?
