Way To Start Using
I just received my ipad that i bought from ebay but when i turned it on all i see is and itunes icon and and usb plug... so i don't know what to do.is it suppose to be like that? The manual said to connect to itunes but i'm scared to do it because i'm planing to jailbreak it so if i connect to itunes is it gonna download the latest version automatically?

Would Not Start Up
When I first opened my iPad and turned it on, I got an iTunes icon and a picture of a USB cable. So, I fired up iTunes 9.1 and plugged it in. NOTHING HAPPENED FWIW, I did not delete the plist files.I rebooted, emptied the Trash, re-installed iTunes, and reconnected my iPad. This time, it appeared under "Devices" like it is supposed to Kudos for Apple Support. I told the rep I would post here about it. Information: Primary Machine: Intel iMac (I have others) Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Would Not Start - What Do I Do?
My iPad is 6 months old now. no problems until this morning. This morning it would not start. I made sure i charged it all night. pressed and held the power button for 10 seconds and still i don/t see anything on the screen. What is the next step for me to do? It Won't Start
I had my IPad on, then turned it off. A minute later, I went to turn it on again and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in thinking it might have a low battery and it a) won't turn on even though plugged in and b) didn't make the little noise that it usually does when it is plugged in and charging. It is the original IPad and about 4 months old.

Just purchased a shiny new iPad today, and I can't get it to even start, as I can't link to iTunes, as my creaking old iBook isn't on 10.5. I really don't want to update my software, as the iBook is on it's last legs. How can I get my iPad started?

Finding Way To Start Up
The only thing is that it has the "connect to itunes logo" on my ipad. Plugged it in to my itunes (Latest version, just did an update), but neither the itunes nor ipad will do anything.

Take Over And Start Tapping On Itself
I have searched this forum for faults similar to mine, but without luck. My problem is the same as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWnz6...=youtube_gdata. My iPad sometimes "take over" and start tapping on itself. I have narrowed it to be the right side of the home buttom in "portrait mode"I really hope it is a software problem. I have tried to "reinstall" it.But same problem keeps coming back. I live in denmark, so a swap in the local apple store is unfortynately not possible.

Why Did It Fail To Start?
Just tried to start ipad with no response at all. Tried to restart with various combinations of power switch and menu button. Eventually had to reconnect to laptop, start itunes (which initially did not recognize the ipad) and after holding restart button down for about 15 seconds got the apple logo. itunes then recognized the ipad but I have had to do a complete restore of ipad system and then backup of all apps. The lesson: make sure you're well backed up!!!. The question: why did it fail to start??? There are now other posts with similar problems. Hope this of interest / help. Would be interesting to get Apple's viewpoint. Information: ipad iOS 4 OSX 10.6.5 Macbook Pro

Applications Can Not Start
My little sister bought an iPad 2 (Verizon 3G) to help her with school. Multiple times she has had a problem where none of her applications start when she selects them from the home screen. The screen simply fades out and then fades back in to the home screen. The iPad is a pretty standard configuration with the usual apps, except she has an application called Proloquo2 to help her communicate (she's autistic).

Ipad 2 Won't Start
I turned off my ipad and when it "tries" to start it gets stuck on the apple logo for several minutes, then proceeds to the wheel, but this wheel is stuck and not going anywhere for hours. To be clear and not waste time- No replies on how to reset the ipad (because that doesn't work and I know how to do that already) needed. When I reset it goes through the whole process of getting frozen again. This happened to me before, and I had to go through the whole recovery mode process and reset my ipad.

Can't Get IPad 3 To Start
I can not get my ipad to come on, it was working okay but when I had a message saying that an update for my ipad is available, I click on update then when it was finished it won't work anymore, all I can see on the screen is a music not incercled then iTunes, then an arrow pointing on the iTunes word, then the picture of the end of the cable, it won't do anything else

Start Loading On Its Own?
My iPad for no reason will just start loading things. I will turn it on and log on to the main screen then all of a sudden it will act like someone just started pressing on everything randomly. I have tried resetting it to factory settings, different cases, currently I am using the Griffin Survivor. It happens almost everytime I try to use it.

Access To Start Developing
The guy behind me in line this am was the father of one of the guys who developed a popular game(I won't say which one in case there is some legal issue) He said they got access to an iPad at the end of December to start developing. But they had to go to Cupertino... Said they had to go to the bathroom in groups and such. Anyway he had mini posters of the game.

Unable To Get Start On Mobileme
I go to me.com or mobileme.com, a welcome page pops up telling me that to get started on the iPad I need to select one of four or five choices set up email, calendars, find my iPhone sic,etc.It will not let me go beyond that welcoming page, even after I have selected one of those options.

MobileMe Wont Start
As mentioned I cannot get my email on my iPad. It tries to connect but after a minute or so I get a prompt that says "cannot connect to mail.me.com". iPhone works but not my iPad. I took it in to apple and as soon as I walked in it pulled my inbox and worked. I repeatedly have checked my account credentials and they are as on my iphone...but still does not work. Backed Up - Start Redownloading
When I first got my iPad in early July, I noticed a dead pixel on it. It wasn't that noticable to me, so I didn't do anything about it. However, the other night, I decided to do a dead pixel test on my iPad, and noticed a total of six dead pixels. Made a Genius appointment, backed up my iPad, etc and went to the meeting. He gave me a refurb iPad and restored my old one. However, when I backed up my old iPad, I guess it must have gone over my head that it would only back up contacts and the like, because when I went to go restore the new iPad, it didn't restore music, videos, pictures or apps. At the time, that was fine, I could just redownload everything.Wrong! When I went to go everything from the app store and the iTunes store, it prompted me to verify my account info (secruity key on the credit card I used). I entered it, and it said it was wrong. It's not wrong; I tried entering it for another 5 minutes. After that, I tried EVERY card I own, and nothing worked

Waiting For Activation On Start Up?
Just plugged in the iPad, got it started, says '"Waiting for Activation, this may take some time", has been like this for 10 minutes. Anyone with similar problem? IPod App Fails To Start
I can't play music on my iPad to save my life. The iPod app starts to open a window, then crashes back to the app launcher. No error message, of course. I tried rebooting the iPad. I removed all music from the iPad using iTunes, then reset the iPad. The iPod app still fails. I told iTunes to sync some music to my iPad. Reset iPad again. IPod still fails. Any other ideas? Unable To Start After Turned Off?
I was using it last night and turned it off, then a few minutes later went to turn it back on and nothing came up. I held the power button down for a few seconds and got nothing. I plugged it in to charge (but I recall it has at least 70%) power when I turned it off) and got nothing. I just plugged it into my computer with iTunes running and it won't show up. It's dead. One minute it was working, the next not. And I've treated it like a baby. It's got iOS 4.2. It's a 16 GB Wifi only. Information: iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Does Not Start - Logo Appear / Disappear
I'm having trouble to start my iPad. When I plug it into energy the Apple logo appears and disappears, all the time until I unplug the energy. But when I plug the ipad into my MacBook, the screen blinks very quickly, and blinks all the time until I unplug. Third Party Apps Will Not Start
this morning my Ipad 2 (3G 64G) will not open third party apps down loaded from App Store. They seem to open for a second and then close. All native apps like mail/safari etc all open fine. I have not yet upgraded to the new OS as I use this ipad to obtain my works email and they have some concerns about the security with the new software so I am using the next to latest OS. Any thoughts? I reset with sleep/home button but that didn't do a thing.

IPad 3 :: My Apps Won't Start
Have had my Ipad 3 for about 3 months and no problems. Today when I try to start any of my apps (any of the ones that I have added) the screen goes dark for a second like the app is loading but then immediately comes back to the icons. I have tried removing the apps from RAM, recycling power, and rebooting, but they still wont load.

Ipad 2 Won't Start And Keep Rebooting
I have an iPad 2 64 Gb 3G White. I was using Safary and the iPad froze on me. After couple of minutes the only thing I was able to do was resetting it. Problem is that after resetting the iPad won't restart. It shows the apple icon for few seconds than screen blinks, go black and apple icon comes back again. it keeps in this loop and wont restart.

As i unboxed , i pressed the Home button, and the iPad screen didn't show the connect to itunes logo,instead led me thru'a series of steps like registering for itunes/apple password and it just started on its own.
