Keyboard/ Dock Volume Control?

No volume control when docked and connected to speakers. The dedicated buttons do not operate unless the 1/8" line-out jack is disconnected. Workaround is plug your stereo into the headset jack.

Low Profile Dock Extender - Dock Connector Cables

Apr 23, 2010

So I'm looking for a cable that has the new apple low profile dock connector on one side and a female dock connector on the other side. Cause most iPod interface cables have big bulky dock Connectors and it won't fit in the spot I'm looking at. I even tried looking for a female USB to female dock connector couldn't find that either. Do they not make thin dock connector cables?

IPad Air :: Can't Enable WiFi Through Control Center

Nov 3, 2013

I got my new iPad Air and I can't seem to enable/disable the Wifi through control center. I can do it through the settings App but not control center. Everything else seems to work on the control center - bluetooth, brightness, airplane etc. Am I missing something as to why the WiFi won't enable on control center?

Enable An External (non Apple) Remote Control On IPad 2?

Apr 22, 2012

I have a marantz na7004 digital receiver. When you plug in an IPod classic via USB , it allows remote control of the apple product either on the iPad itself or on the screen of the Marantz. My IPad 2 does not allow the same functionality and does not recognise the Marantz remote at all.

My Office Network manager says the easiest way is to change the IP and DNS on the device you are streaming too and reconnect manually with DHCP off?

Right Angle Dock Connector?

Apr 18, 2010

I bought an acrylic adjustable easel from a craft store ($2.99!) to use as a stand to hold my iPad in either portrait or landscape position. Not that it matters a lot, but the cable doesn't fit under the iPad in portrait mode and it also hangs off to the side in a rather unsightly manner. I thought if there was a right angle connector available anywhere it could eliminate both issues. The cable I am looking for looks something like this on another MR thread

Dock Connector For Mulitple?

Jun 5, 2010

I was using my iPad normally the other day and synced it to my mac (iMac in sig). Today there were a few updates for apps that I use, so I decide to re-sync the iPad even though I have hardly used it since the sync the night before. I plug in the dock connector to the bottom (same cable/USB port as the night before) and nothing happens. I tried my iPhone and iPod on the cable and everything shows up in iTunes fine. As soon as I try the iPad....nothing. Of course I have done a soft and hard restart with no luck. Seems weird that the dock connector magically went bad while sitting on my desk overnight. Any ideas?

How Snug Dock Connector Be?

May 4, 2010

I hope this is the right forum for this question.

When I first inserted the sync cable, my new iPad 3G the dock connector was very tight and snug, no movement whatsoever. However over the past four days the connector tightness seems to be a bit less. I noticed it more tonight when I picked up my iPad and felt a light tug and realized it was still attached to the charging cable, I quickly inspected it to ensure I didnt damage anything and noticed the connection between the device and the cord seemed ever so slightly "wobbly"

When I plug in the cable it doesn't feel loose per se, doesn't move side to side, or fall out, but rather flexes slightly front to back of the device. Doing this doesn't break charging or sync connection, doesn't seem to have any adverse effects.

My iPod Touch has the same slight front-to-back flex of the sync cable when attached, but it's been plugged in every night to charge, and every day into the car dock multiple times for well over a year, so I would expect the connectors to be slightly worn.
I have inspected the inside of the ports on both devices, even prodding them slightly with a small electronics probe, and everything seems tight and straight.

1) Is it normal for this slight front-to-back flexibility? Are the connections not supposed to be tight and unmoving? (I have tried both devices on all 5 of my charge/syc cables including one that was brand new with the same results.)
2) I see so many speaker systems and charging stations that seem to support the devices only by their docking ports, so exactly how sturdy are these dock connnectors? Are they not prone to bending/breakage?

Keyboard Via Dock Connector?

Aug 2, 2010

I plan to buy an ipad for my wife. So far, she balks at the onscreen keyboard.

I'm not clear if the "dock" connector on the ipad is the usual USB port, or instead, something proprietary to the ipad. Since i already own an old imac keyboard, is it possible to plug this USB keyboard straight into the ipad,. Or is my only option to buy Apple's bluetooth keyboard? I have also read few threads here, where people are having problems with the bluetooth keyboard.

I'm equally curious to learn from other people who also thought they needed a real keyboard, but then when they tested it, along with the onscreen keyboard, they actually preferred the onscreen one.
