View 3 RepliesDoes anyone know anything about the reports that MDCrashReportTool sends to https://iphonesubmissions.apple.com? It appears that a file called "aggregated.some-date.crash" gets sent to Apple every time the iPad is synched with iTunes or every time there was a crash since the last sync. This file appears to contain all the apps that have been run since the last sync and the amount of time each app is run, in CPU seconds, I am guessing. This seems like way too much information that should be collected and reported back to Apple anonymously like this, and seems like it could be very easily abused if it became public. I don't see any personal info, but with the IP address that it's coming from wouldn't be hard to associate person with behaviour.

View 7 RepliesShould I send them, because I have a choice, PDF or Doc? What is the difference? I have been sending them Doc, but sometimes they tell me on my desktop " I'm sorry, there is no application to open this file with". When it says that I have to go through all these back doors to get that file open that I needed right away. Not only with the iPad, but my office will email me a document for court and i will open it on my desktop and it states it is a DOC file and I have to save it, then I can not find it that puppy, then I DO find it, and right click and it opens in Word.
View 11 RepliesWe are considering arming staff with iPads to help cut down on the paper we use and improve portability of our reports and other documents. Is there an efficient way for an administrative assistant to upload reports to each users device say prior to a meeting, etc? I realize it could be accomplished via email, but wondering if there is another way or if the iPad is just too young to have developed a method for this?
View 16 RepliesWhen I was a kid watching StarTrek TNG with my dad, I thought the tablets those guys were carrying around was neat. All of their information was on there. Job, issues, reports, manifests, etc... I compare it to the iPhone more than the 10" tablet, but this is a futuristic time. It just reminds me of that show

I am so used to the tool bar in Safari on iPhone being at the bottom I am really bothered that the iPad version is at the top. Does it bother you? Why would Apple do that?
View 13 RepliesI recently bought the iPad 3, and so far so good, But i just encountered a problem:
I was browsing through my course documents in safari and when i click on pdf files i can only see the first page, i cant scroll to other pages or anything.
I tried to download the adobe reader app but it didnt do much, according to the manual you can just "open in" but i couldnt find such option.
Also is there a way to download the pdf files into newsstand or adobe reader?

Having an issue with syncing the iPad where iTunes reports that there is not enough free space to transfer the selected data. In this case it was an app(The Elements) which is 1.78 GB. The iPad has 3.8 GB free space, yet the app cannot be transfered because there is "Insufficient space". I used to see the same problem with my iPhone when attempting to sync back the photos i just copied off the camera app. There is definately free space, but iTunes seems to see something different than what is reported.BTW. I could not sync the app to the iPad using iTunes, but there was enough free space to directly download the app on the iPad. Seems like a problem with iTunes to me.Is iTunes and the iPad reporting an incorrect amount of free space? Can iTunes be forced to transfer apps without checking for the amount of free space? Any other ideas?
View 1 RepliesI receive a daily email from my company, with a links in the body of the email, in the following format:
[url]...
(beginning of URL removed from link to allow post - new users must have 3 posts before links are allowed)
When I click the link on my Windows PC or laptop (either at the office or when working remotely) I get a window where I enter an ID and password to access the server and then the report is shown in my browser. These reports reside on a Windows server at our office.
When I select this same link on the iPad2 I get prompted for the ID and password but after I enter them I get an error, after a minute or so, stating "Cannot Open Page" "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".
This is my number one problem with the iPad...when visiting a site like the forums here or gizmodo etc. I like to open lots of pages in different tabs while scrolling down the list...then go read the stories or threads one at a time. However on the iPad whenever you open a new tab it automatically selects it...is there any way to have tabs open in the background...seems like it should be a switch in settings, but I couldn't find one.

View 4 RepliesCurrently have safari asking me if it wants to save my user and passwords. I had it remember my info for a certain site, but Ive changed my password. When I go to the site it already has the info in, when I change the password already there to the new one and sign in, the popup comes up to ask if it wants to save it, but then safari crashes. If I just click log in, with the old password on there, and the next screen takes me to the "password is incorrect" page, I can put in my new one and log in, but it won't ask me to save.I know I can go in settings and delete all the stored info, but I just want to delete this one. Any way to do so?
