Volume Controls For Bluetooth Speakers?
Aug 6, 2010
Yes,
A) i know iOS implementation of AVRCP is limited to play and pause,
B) i've spent a couple of days googling around, and i found out about Music Control app, witch isn't what i need.
I have a Sony Ericsson MBS-100 speaker that doesn't have volume control buttons. While paired via bluetooth, any way to change the output volume? iTunes won't alow it. This sucks. I must wait for iOS 4.1?
Any hacks available?

Loses Volume Controls When Connecting To Bluetooth Audio Devices?
Jul 2, 2010
Why does the iPad disable all volume controls when you connect to a Bluetooth audio device? Am I missing something?
I have a Belkin BT music receiver that takes an audio signal over bluetooth and outputs it via headphone jack / RCAs to a stereo. This makes the iPad an awesome music playing device for remote control of your music collection... EXCEPT that when it connects to the Belkin, both the hardware volume controls and the iTunes volume slider are disabled.
This does not happen on my Macbook but the iPhone 3 also disables the volume control.
I've been on the phone with Apple and they told me to put in a "feedback" request with a description of what I think it should do. Basically it shouldn't disable the volume controls!
Does anyone else use the iPad with a BT audio device?

In Bluetooth Controls Can't Skip Ahead To The Next Track Using Built In Controls
Oct 22, 2010
I have a bluetooth headphones that I use when I go jogging or just listening to music at home.
But I have realsied that with the iPad I cannot skip ahead to the next track using the built in controls on the headphones.
I could use the headdphone controls perfectly fine with my iPhone.
If I connect it to my car's bluetooth I cannot skip songs or pause songs with the controller on my steering wheel. All of this is still possible on my iPhone...

Computer Speakers Via Bluetooth Speakers For Movies And Music?
Jul 28, 2010
I've using he iPad for over a month and I've been thinking about getting a pair of Bluetooth speakers for movies and music. Then an idea came - is it possible to connect the iPad to the speakers on my desktop computer such that the iPad sees them as Bluetooth speakers? I'm guessing there's an app on the computer side for that.

Volume Controls Automatically
Jun 4, 2010
When I rotate my iPad (or iPhone, for that matter), why didn't Apple design things so the volume controls automatically reverse ? in other words, the volume adjustment becomes intuitive no matter what direction I hold the device? The volume controls should reverse themselves based on the screen orientation. How many times do you accidentally lower your volume instead of raise it, or vice-versa? ALL THE DANG TIME, right?!

Anyone else notice this problem or is it just me? I would appreciate if you could check!

Different Sound Effects Volume Controls In Settings?
May 24, 2012
I recently realized that the main volume control in settings isn't the only control and that Mute doesn't really mean Mute (its Different). There is a volume control in settings under sounds that corresponds to the side buttons (if set up that way). The is also a "sound effects" volume that the side buttons seem to control, but only during certain conditions. When "sound effects" volume comes into play and what it controls if not notification sounds? There is also the Mute switch which only Mutes Apps sounds and notifications, but it doesn't Mute Safari or YouTube so it obviously doesn't Mute all Apps.
There is also the volume controls found in the taskbar which seem to be tied to the ipod side of things, but also control the camera shutter sound and keyboard clicks. This has to be the most confusing way of doing volume ever. Separate sliders for each volume in Settings under Sounds and a couple switches in Settings to choose what gets muted, easy, intuitive, done. Unless someone could explain the logic behind their method and/or explain "sound effects" volume and/or how to actually mute the speaker entirely and easily.

Need Portable Hi-Fi Speakers/battery Operated System Give Adequate Volume?
Oct 22, 2010
When I travel with my wife I would like to take our extensive library of clasical music with us.To listen we need decent portable Hi Fi speakers.Questions 1. Do they have to be bluetooth? 2. Can a battery operated system such as Logitech or Phillips Fidelio really give adequate volume? 3. Mains powered speakers such as Nakamichi can give incredible sound from quite small speakers. Can the iPa feed such speakers?
