Very Long Download Time?
Sep 4, 2010I rented my first movie an HD rental from Itunes. It took over 6 hours to complete. Any idea what my problem is?

Apps Take A Long Time To Download/update?
Apr 23, 2011I noticed that apps take a really long time to download and update. I know it's not my Internet connection because web pages load fast and downloading apps on my iPhone from the same connection is very very fast.
Is it because iPad apps are bigger? I guess that would make sense but >1min on the iPhone vs. <4mins on the iPad just doesn't seem right?
Long Time Span / Turn On After A Long Time?
Sep 6, 2010This is not another thread asking when the next revision will be, so calm down.
My question is, if you powered off your iPad, set it in a drawer and then went back 50 years later would it come back on assuming you recharged it? I've bought a few iBooks and it occurred to me that eventually they could be lost forever one day if the device stopped working. I realize the idea is that iBooks and other things are backed up and then transferred to newer devices. However, when you're talking about huge spans of time, it could be that those would be lost or that old books don't make it on newer gadgets.
The iPad seems pretty solid for the most part except for perhaps the battery-- but then again I'm no engineer.
So, what do you think? It would be cool to think someone might be able to turn on my iPad one day 200 years from now and read my books, watch my shows.

Itunes Take Long Time To Restore
Nov 24, 2010Anyone run into the problem of iTunes/iPad crashing with error during update? When i restored my iPad and updated itthe apps are taking a long time to install. By a long time I mean its been 5+ hours. I dont have any of those Mag apps or anything that people were posting problems with. I left my iPad on at home 90% done on stage 2 of 3 of restore. Im running a i7 computer with Win7...connector is for the iPad and the USB power is not an issue.

Sep 23, 2010I've been trying to update the OS to the new 3.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.whatever and the I-Pad wants to back up. I left it alone and came back over three hours later and it was about half done backing up. This is not the first time. I had basically given up backing up because of this. So I can't even get the update at this point.

Takes Long Time For Sync
Nov 15, 2010If I cancel the backup at the start of sync it takes about 2 mins. I've tried to get a backup of the iPad 3G 64GB and so far its taken 2 days. 12 hours each day and still It says its only about 10% though it.WHY is the backup taking so long? Previously when it did the backup it synced in about 5 mins. If I cancel the backup for any reason the next time it takes 24 hours at least to backup.Will the next iTunes and iOS4.2 fix the SLOW backups? If not then give me a good reason to update.I had to run the hack to disable backups at sync so it syncs in about 2-3 mins even when adding videos and bigger apps.

Jul 27, 2010new to the forum. Hoping I can get some good advice here.The first thing I thought I'd find out is if everyone else's iPads take as long to restart as mine. Mine shows the small silver Apple logo for 7 and a half minutes before I can use it. Is this normal?Mine is the 64GB wifi + 3G model. Looking forward to your replies!

Sync Takes Very Long Time
May 7, 2010This is not really a new topic. Many people reported the same problem. But I have searched and searched through the forum and I do not think I have an answer.
I have a total of about 30G of contents to sync to the iPad including music, videos and photos. One would think only the changed files should be copied, but it seems like all the files are being copied over every time a sync is performed.
I am suspecting this because I do two sync's consecutively, without even touching the iPad no definitely no changes were made, the same amount of time is required to complete the sync.
Anyone has a solution yet? This is pretty annoying

May 8, 2012Problems syncing with iCal ? I have the latest updates for for MBP 2011 and my New iPad. If I sync Contacts only, then it will be a few seconds.. but when I start to sync my iCal .. it neer ends .. even after a couple of hours. I am not syncing anything else at the moment. What can be the cause of this ? I am also running SyncMate for my legacy devices.. will SyncMate cause a problem ? I have tried many times and event Restore my new ipad with no improvements.

Mar 30, 2012Particularly with some of the photos from the retina photos thread in this forum and other very high-resolution photos, there seems to be a long rendering time for the photos in which originally the photo is very pixelated and it takes a few seconds (about five or so) and then becomes very clear (as it should be).
Is everybody else experiencing this? If so is there a way to fix this (perhaps a different app that's better at rendering) or is it just something that will happen with this iPad when rendering very high resolution images?
