View 2 RepliesApparently not. Try using the cable that actually came with the iPad. There is apparently something different about it. Now, backup and sync on my iPad fly
View 11 RepliesI am looking purchase the next-gen iPhone when it comes out and also the WiFi only iPad. If I have an iPhone, who needs the iPad 3G? Anyway, I just realized that the browsing experience on the iPad is infinitely better than the experience on the iPhone, due to the larger screen and the faster processor. The new iPhone will most likely have an underclocked version of the A4 processor, but that leaves the problem of the small screen. Since I have an iPhone 3GS, I was wondering whether or not the iPhone can be tethered with the iPad through USB cable...
View 4 RepliesI'm wondering what happens if we connect both Ipad and Iphone using their USB cables to USB hub?? i.e like having a cable connecting both together. Then enable tethering on the iphone similar to what you do when you connect iphone to a pc?
Did anybody try it yet??
I did not try it.
I got an iPhone 4 the day after launch, and just recently picked up an iPad.
Instead of unpacking the USB cable that came included w/ the iPad, I just used the one I got with my iPhone 4. They LOOK identical but I'm not sure - both have the shorter dock connecter part (instead of the longer, fatter ones from before).
I noticed the iPhone 4 USB was VERY hard to insert into the iPad firmly... I had to really push and force it. It connected OK, but not very easily. So I went ahead and used the new USB cable that came w/ the iPad, and it fit nice and easy! No force necessary, it just glided into the iPad.
My question is, are the Apple USB cables not interchangeable with other devices? Was I not supposed to plug the iPhone 4 USB cable into the iPad? I really hope I didn't damage my USB port on my iPad.
What gives?
using the iPhone 4 cable to connect or charge an iPad 2?
View 1 RepliesFirst of all, i love this forum!
i got the 16GB wifi ipad running 3.2.1 and i'm already jailbroken
1) I know there are differences between chargers but shouldnt i be able to charge using a standard Apple USB cable attached to the computer? I also tried a standard Apple iPhone charger and it also won't charge. I also tried a generic iphone AC charger and that too won't charge the iPad. . .
2) Where are all the standard iPhone apps like Calculator, Voice Recorder, etc.? does this thing even have a mic?
3) Where are all the popular apps for iPhone like Facebook, Slacker Radio etc.?? i realize some apps are only for iPhone and CAN be run on the iPad, but did they really NOT make a Facebook app specifically for the iPad??
P.S. after writing this thread, my iPad battery went up 1% while plugged into the computer. It still says 'Not Charging' though. Does this just mean it's not charging to it's full potential?
I can confirm that Italian 3 service works as advertised in various threads in Florence. Excellent coverage even behind the thick 16th century walls!I am back in the UK and need some help and advice - perhaps from someone in Italy. Part of the iPad plan with 3 / Tre is free roaming in the UK. As the Italian data plan is cheaper than the UK one, I would like to continue to recharge my 3 Italy account. I have been on the tre.it website to try and figure out how to add addition Euro to the account. I am using Google to translate the pages which is a mixed bag. I have found a place to set up an account and (I think) to start the process of recharging the SIM. Unfortunately it seems to require a "number". In the Settings -> General -> About it says that the Cellular Data Number is Unknown.

View 11 RepliesMy new iPad won't charge when connected to the laptop, it will only charge with the plug that it came with and with the incar charger, won't charge when in use. Is this right or should it go back to the shop?

I just bought an Ipad 2 today, and when I tried to recharge it with the connector for the electricity net it didn't start charging.

Can I recharge the I-Pad battery overnight without running it all the way down (ie: maybe at 30%) without harming the unit? Or should I only recharge when it is totally depleted?Information: I-Pad Mac OS X (10.4.7)

View 7 RepliesMy battery has been draining about 5% an hour while asleep with no apps running. I read online that restarting the ipad should fix it, and I did that, but it was still there.I decided to drain the battery completely and then recharge it to 100%. I did that, and now the battery is stuck at 100%. Ive been using it for 3 hours and its still at 100%. What can I do to fix this?
View 4 RepliesAccording to apples website it is a good idea to completely drain the battery at least once a month, and then do a full recharge, to help prolong the life of the battery.
I usually keep my battery topped up, and it is very rarely below 50% so I am thinking it would be a good idea to drain it overnight while I am sleeping, anyone got any ideas how best to accomplish this?
Why does my iPad chirp every so often during recharge? The intervals seem random. No error messages or warnings on the iPad, as it contunues to charge. The display activates showing a large battery icon with charge percentage, then the display shuts off. Not an issue, really, except it's at bedside during overnight charge, and wakes me up!
View 8 RepliesI thought it was kinda funny when I read reports of people unable to recharge their ipads using the USB ports or their PC's and hear that they don't supply enough power.Ironically enough, I just realised that my 2007 macbook pro (the one right before unibody macbookpros came out) is unable to recharge my recently delivered ipad.
None of the two usb ports is able to provide enough energy. It's annoying now since I have to fully recharge it before I'm able to sync it to my mac. Hey Apple, I want an EFI update to fix this
I am sure this must be obvious, but just in case... Can I recharge my iPad and iPhone on an 220v outlet
