Somehow when syncing my ipad with my imac or when syncing via mobileme I dumped my contacts/address book. Time machine does not have a copy. Is there any way i can recover my contacts?

I have been syncing my iPad to my home PC for many months. I have loaded about 30 apps onto the device, with content, books and documents that I use often.Over the weekend, in order to charge it, I plugged it into my work laptop without thinking.
When I got back to my iPad many of the apps and their data had been deleted.I tried to Restore from a backup, but this only returned it to the state after the applications had been deleted.
It now appears that all my apps had been removed with their datasets. So I have lost all of the documents in GoodReader, Books, and the Office Applications. Even though I ask for it to be backed up at each sync.Once I got back to my home PC, I also tried to restore from a previous backup, but again that did not restore from a backup either.
The removed applications did get returned. But as mentioned, Pages, Keynote, Numbers have lost all of my documents, all of my games have been returned to their original state, and my business applications like iPass have been restored to factory settings.How do I restore my iPad to a backup where all of these things will be fixed?

View 13 RepliesI have a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.5.I am running the most current iTunes available. I checked for iTunes updates before syncing my iPad. I have a 64 GB 3G+WiFi iPad. I backed up the iPad before downloading & updating to iOS 4. Now the iPad has frozen four times during the sync, and iTunes with it. I tried restoring the iPad from the back up, but it freezes EVERY time (lost count after 6 attempts).After searching fruitlessly for any solution in the forum, I finally removed the iOS update from the iPad Software updates folder, since it was the newest thing and likely the cause of the crashing, and tried restoring the iPad to original settings. That worked. However, when I tried restoring from back up, to get my apps etc. back, it froze AGAIN!!! I have been at this for about 6 hours and I'm frustrated with Apple, with iTunes, and with my iPad. I fear I have lost all my apps, their data, etc. Frankly I'm pretty peeved! Any help anyone can give, I'd very much appreciate. I plan on giving Apple an earful in the morning. I'm pretty dependent on my iPad for school (I'm a teacher). NOT happy right now. View 2 RepliesI recently updated my iPad to the latest version using iTunes and suffered the problem which many people have reported around the iPad sticking in Recovery Mode after attempting to install the update. After some online research i read that you could bring the iPad back to life by updating it using another computer, if available. After a number of attempts on my PC failing to recover the iPad i took this advice and recovered via my laptop which was successful.
My problem, however, is that i had a lot of personal and sensitive data saved on my iPad within the Pages and My Journal apps. Prior to my first attempt to update my iPad i created a backup as prompted. Unfortunately any attempts to restore my iPad via my PC leads to a further lock up of the iPad by it going into Recovery Mode meaning i have to follow the process outlined above using my laptop.
Is there anyway other than using iTunes that i could locate and recover the information previously saved within these apps e.g. Folder location on 'My Computer' where back up data is saved?

I imported some photos using SD card adapter to the ipad. Ipad shows "last imported" and "all imported". Not knowing they're to same, I deleted the "last imported" thinking they're duplicates. Now, I lost all the photos, and don't know how to recover them.

I have an Ipad 1 with iOs5.0. I did, somehow, delete all my pictures from the computer. I still have them on my iPad. Being afraid to hit "synchronize" and deleting the pictures from the iPad as well, is there a good way to recover the pictures from the iPad back to the computer?
View 1 RepliesA bunch of my documents in Notes were showing up in the list twice (this has been happening a lot), so I went and deleted the duplicates not realizing that both filenames were vanishing. Now several vital documents are gone representing a ton of work. I haven't synced the iPad, so those files don't exist anywhere else. I haven't written anything to the iPad, so I hope there's some chance those Notes are still there. I can't find an "undelete" function anywhere. Is there any chance I can recover these Notes?

What happened and how can I recover my events? View 2 RepliesI backed Up my ipad which is currently on software 5.1.The thing is I hadn't backed up for quite a while so I left it overnight backing up and syncing.Next morning I wake up to realize that apparently everything is there EXCEPT for only one of those "organizing folders" you make, which I had named "note and drawing apps".As you may assume I had Penultimate, Notability and Note Taker HD on it, along with a whole bunch of my study and medicine class notes, which I NEED! I also had Paper by fiftyThree and Sketchbook express with a lot of sketches, designs and drawings.Giving a flick over the other apps, all my other "folders" are there, and I don't miss any other app (Maybe some others were erased but I don't know, as there are some apps you never use....so I dont remember them all...)
At first I thought maybe the folder was "desintegrated". But actually all of those apps are not in the ipad anymore...they were removed....Added to this, it seems they are not in my app section from itunes.Please help!.I know I can download the apps again without charge from the appstore but I want to recover my notes and sketches!!I don't know if I want to make a "restore from backup" kind of thing because I donpt know if it will be worse.
