My mail icon on the dock keeps telling me that I have X number of unread mail, even though, from what I can tell, I have read all the mail. Does anyone know what this number refers to and how to get that number to go away? It'd make it easier to keep an eye on Mail if it reflects the accurate number of unread messages.
View 3 RepliesI am have consistent problems with the unread marker in Mac Mail on my iPad. As a test I will send a message to myself. When it is received, it is marked "unread" of course. But when I return to Mac Mail a little while late the unread marker is gone. I have not opened the message on this (my iPad) or my iPod, or any of my other Mac computers.

Both the badge on the app icon and the app itself on my 3rd gen iPad says my gmail account has 3 unread emails. I've checked multiple times, and I can find none unread. When I look at the account on both my desktop and my iPhone, they register none unread.
When I delete the account on my iPad, the badge goes away and everything is fine. But when I add that one account back, it reads 3 unread again.

The mail icon on my iPad indicates one unread message but when I open the mail app there are no unread emails visible. I have just updated to iOS 5 and this is the first time this has happened. Is this a bug in the update? Or just a general bug in the mail app??
View 5 RepliesI was wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the unread message notification in various mail folders in Ipad's mail app. What I mean is when I click on various folders (such as Drafts, Trash, Inbox, or Custom Folders I created) it updates the list of all the unread messages displayed on the first page of that particular folder. But if I haven't clicked on a particular folder, it doesn't show the notification of unread messages (even if I have unread messages in that folder). I'm trying to get back to where it doesn't show the unread message notification. Is there a way to remove the counter of unread messages that shows up (For instance, Trash 100 messages, Drafts 70 messages) without going through each message and "reading it"? I get annoyed by seeing unread messages
View 1 RepliesI'm having a little problem here with my emails, my iPad keeps showing (little red 1 in corner of email app) that I have a single unread email, this is incorrect, I've been through all my emails and they are all marked as read, anyone have an suggestions on how I can fix this?
View 1 RepliesCan I somehow generate an unread folder on my ipad2 registered mail accounts?
On my email exchange server I ve setup various directories and using a single unread mail folder , similarly to my Pc is something that I would definitely like to have on ipad2.
Other than that I also have some personal folders that Their content is saved on my Pc rather than the exchange server. Mails referring to those folders are not displayed from my iPad default mail client.
I would like to have my email only show unread messages. I cannot find how to do this. Since I link to my work email, I read many of the emails on another device. When the iPad syncs to my work email, I have to selectively choose only those with a blue dot (indicating unread) but would rather just enable a choice "only show unread messages". I do not see that this option exists.

My ipad seems to automatically stop listing my read emails. They remain on the unit for a day or so, then they disappear. They are still listed on my Mac Mail on my computer, but the ipad won't keep them. How do I keep read emails?
