Can I completely disable the passcode feature on my iPad?Â
I know how to turn the passcode off but this is not sufficient. I have an iPad for my Down Syndrome son for communication using Proloquo2go. But he just goes in and turns the passcode back on and sets a new one, then forgets it. Â
I don’t want a passcode on it at all because it is solely for his use. I want to disable the ability to turn the passcode back on.
I had some unknown issue trying to purchase and download an application onto my ipad. Ultimately, I got it worked out somehow but there is a blank icon left on my display with the title 'loading...' underneath it. The app was successfully installed and it's icon works just fine. I synched with iTunes on my Mac yesterday, hoping that would result in the icon being removed but it is still there. The blank icon doesn't appear in the Apps page under iTunes after the synch completed.
I wanna use my iPad in an exhibition and I would like to hide/disable ALL icon on it except one or two apps that I will use. When I use restrictions I still have apps like mail, calendar etc.I dont want to jailbrake it ofc.
My wife and I are the parents of a 13 year old special needs child. The Ipad has become a valuable tool for him. He is non verbal and wears hearing aids. He currently has the original Ipad and the Ipad 2. He uses one at school and the other at home. I have turned off Wifi,YouTube, installing apps etc on the Ipad at school.I have a few questions that I am hoping someone can help me with.Is there anyway to lockout/disable the settings icon on the main screen? He is constantly in the settings menu changing something. I have enabled the restrictions lock under the General Settings but this does not prevent him from changing all other settings.
Secondly is there away to make videos inaccessible to him at school. I rented a movie on his iPad from Itunes the other day. The school called about inappropriate content ( Transformers Movie) on the Ipad. I had turned off YouTube, wifi, safari and Itunes. I assumed this would stop the movie from playing. Once the movie is downloaded is there anyway to restrict access to it short of deleting it? I know if I rent via my desktop I can transfer the movie between the desktop an Ipad but with the Transformers movie I download directly to the iPad.
I have now installed the mBox Mail App - as a Hotmail user - without any problems - so far! Mail icons on the Home Page have been exchanged but would like to Disable or Remove the iPad OE Mail App to avoid duplication of rec'd mail.
Is this possible? If so what do I need to do. I have been reluctant to 'mess about' with Mail Settings for fear of losing both!
I have tried to remove the sound for incoming mail, gone into settings and ticked no sounds, but the damn alert sound still sounds all thro the night, the sound seems to be magnified in the dead of night. At the moment I turn the power off to escape the sound.
Just started using mail in the new ipad and see an icon in the inbox on the left handside in between the move icon and the reply icon. What is it and what does it do to a file? I clicked an old email on it and it seemed to have stored it or did it delete it.
I bought a new 3rd generation iPad and a new 3rd generation Apple TV. When I bring up the AirPlay icons on my new ipad, I still see the old Apple TV 2 icon is still displayed along with the new Apple TV ION. This old Apple TV has already been reset to factory settings and unplugged. How do I remove this icon from my new iPad?
When I try to sync Exchange Server mail with my iPad 2, I found that the ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendar’ option in ‘Settings’ menu is not responding while tapping on it. It seems that the option get frozen on my iPad. How can I fix it?
I disable the preview sheet so it email messages are not automatically opened when i start the mail program on my ipad it is very frustrating that it would let me view my in box alone like on the iphone.
In the past few days the mail count displayed on the mail icon has failed to reset when my inbox is cleared. The number just keeps increasing as new mail comes in and is cleared. I tried restarting, but that had no effect. iPad model MC497LL
I am new to the ipad.I receive email just fine but I get a message when I am on the email that says Cannot Send Mail. The connection to the outgoing server 'smtp.live.com' failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Setting > Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
I have an email icon with a number of emails that are supposed to be there but there are no emails in the program. This happened right after I tried to email an invoice to the mail program and copy it into pages. Pages did not like that but I cannot get rid of the number of email messages the program thinks is there.
Information: Mac Book Pro Mac OS X (10.5.8) I love my mac.
My Mail program with both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S keeps growing constantly in size. My iPad Mail is now at 1.7 GB. ALL messages are deleted, trash is deleted, etc. The program just isn't reclaiming storage after deletions.Â
I filed a bug with Apple as an Apple Developer but, after about 3 weeks, I got a message from Apple indicating that the bug had been removed because it was a duplicate. In other words, other people also have this problem (it is possible that ALL people may not have it).Â
Two upgrades ago, my iPad had to totally re-install from scratch (something went wrong with the upgrade). The Mail program went back to about 50 MB. As mentioned, it has now grown back to 1.7 GB (on iPad 2, only 1.4 GB on my iPhone). At this size, it is taking a significant amount of my RAM -- it was probably the reason the upgrade failed two times ago (not enough free RAM).Â
I need to remove my mail program and reinstall it -- or even completely refresh my iPhone/iPad. I keep hoping Apple will fix the problem but 7.1.2 still hasn't fixed it.Â
How do I remove and reinstall Mail (or -- at the worst -- refresh the entire iOS device (using backups from iCloud for important settings)? It will probably be up to 2+ GB by the end of July.
I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the unread message notification in various mail folders in Ipad's mail app. What I mean is when I click on various folders (such as Drafts, Trash, Inbox, or Custom Folders I created) it updates the list of all the unread messages displayed on the first page of that particular folder. But if I haven't clicked on a particular folder, it doesn't show the notification of unread messages (even if I have unread messages in that folder). I'm trying to get back to where it doesn't show the unread message notification. Is there a way to remove the counter of unread messages that shows up (For instance, Trash 100 messages, Drafts 70 messages) without going through each message and "reading it"? I get annoyed by seeing unread messages
Lately I have been getting large volumes of junk mail, not sure why, but as I type / speak there are over 250 in the inbox across three email accounts. how do I delete them quickly as in bulk delete. I have used the Edit button but have to mark each one individualy which is slow. There are probably only a handfull of real or important emails the rest are just junk, nearly all from 2 or 3 different sources.
In order to prevent this how do I set up mail filtering or is there anything else I could do.
Will restoring the iPad help in stopping the old email address from popping up while sending mails? What should I do to permanently remove already deleted email address from appearing on the “TO” area while typing a mail?
