Apr 10, 2010Do I need special headphones for my iPad. My iPod headphones do not fit into the hole and I don't want to force them in...maybe I should push harder??

For Teaching Special Needs
Nov 19, 2010Anybody here have experience of using iPad to teach kids with special needs. My son is 6 years old and at present goes to special ed school. He knows his letters and numbers but still not able to read words or sentences. Anyone here experienced using iPad for kids with special needs ? He loves "reading" books. He does more of picture waking, he is good at grasping things if it is taught in certain way because of his illness.

Oct 18, 2010purchased an ipad and want to use it in the same way as my ipod touch with my turkish dictionary from Langenscheid. But to use it I must be able to enter the special turkish characters. Is there a way as in the touch to enhance the existing apple kayboard with the special characters, so when you hold e.g. the "s" key, you get also the "ş" for example?

Feb 6, 2010I've been thinking about this for a few days?The storage in the is pad is either a 16, 32 or 64 gb flash drive.So flash drive, essentially isn't that just the same as a USB stick?If that's the case, when you can purchase a 64 gb USB flash drive from some vendor such as amazon, why are apple charging such a premium for storage that is readily available at very reasonable cost per gb as a USB stick. What makes the flash drive built-in to the iPad so special? Are apple trying pass off the flash drive as a solid state drive similar to what you have in the macbook air?

May 6, 2010I've spotted a booboo in the iPad's character set. They left out the letter u with macron when you press and hold on the U key. On the iPhone it is there. I need to use Hawaiian words properly punctuated such as the word, "Kalākaua."(Strangely they ADDED another special on the A, a superscripted .)I compared my iphone's and ipad's keyboard setups, International setups, etc. It just seems to have been left off.Also switched the iPad to Hawaiian (United States) to no effect.Any solution other than sit and wait? Is there a place with an Apple Suggestion box?

Dec 1, 2010with iOS 3 you could access special caracters like è é etc by pressing the e key when using the standard german keyboard on the iPad or iPhone.This is gone with iOS 4.21 - the only additional caracter is the letter ė.As my first name contains the letter é this is very bothersome as I need to work with an additonal (french) keyboard layout to type my name.Why where most of the letters removed, when will they be back?

Does DocsToGo Premium Maintain PDF Special Formatting
Jan 27, 2011I have the regular edition of DocumentsToGo ("DTG"). I love the app, especially it's file manager feature. However, after importing a PDF document that contains special formatting added in Adobe (underlining, highlighting & etc.) the special formatting does not show up when I open the file in "DTG." It can be ported over to another app where the special formatting does shows up. But it is not visible when the file is open in "DTG." Does the premium edition allows you to see the special formatting in a PDF document?

Apple Wireless Keyboard-Portuguese Special Characters?
Sep 5, 2010I bought an apple wireless keyboard to use with my ipas hopping that it would be recognized so that I was able to use portuguese special characters.
Well, it does get connected fine, but the layout is as if it was an english qwerty keyboard.
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to fix this? BTW the keyboard works fine with my MacBook.

Itunes Make Copies Of Photos I Have On My Windows Pc In A Special Folder?
Jun 9, 2012I have Itunes, i have an ipad3. i've used windows and am unfamiliar with the apple terms and functionality. my new ipad3 is almost full, because when i synced it the first time, it copied 15,000+ photos from directories all over my pc onto it. there are many duplicates. i've since cleaned up the dupes on my pc, but don't know how to remove them from the ipad3. i've searched forums, but get confused about the terms and how itunes works.
- what is iphoto?
- does itunes make copies of photos i have on my windows pc in a special folder?
- how about music?
- if there are copies, under which directory are they stored?
- is there a way to delete duplicates in itunes (photos and music)?
- if i clean up the duplicates, does a simple sync removed the duplicates from the ipad3 or do i need to do something more?
- if is run the File/display duplicates applet inside itunes, i get a number of columns, and one is unlabeled. it is the second column, between "album by artist" and the check mark. there are numbers and blanks in the column. what do these mean?
- in Gmail, the check mark on the column header means select all. i'm not sure what it means here. is there a way to uncheck all, and then check only the ones i want to remove?
- i read somewhere that you can screw up iphoto if you start deleting, because some are actual files, and some are pointers to the file. if you delete the file and leave the pointers, you've lost the picture / song. is that right?? are there apps out there for itunes to clean up this sort of stuff? if so, does the clean up automatically extend to the ipad3 when i do a sync?

Apr 13, 2010Does anyone know if the iPad function keys that are special to the iPad on the keyboard dock also work on the normal Apple Wireless Keyboard when pairing with bluetooth. Would the brightness up/down on the wireless keyboard also control the iPad's brightness, just like they do on the iPad keyboard? Would the iPod controls (play/pause, rewind, ff) and volume controls also work on the iPad?
