View 5 RepliesI just picked up my iPad today, 16 GB WiFi model, and I'm having a problem...I'll be using the iPad for a while (maybe 45 min to one hour), when suddenly the screen shuts off. I can still somewhat see, but it is very very very dark. The sound continues fine and it still recognizes my finger inputs. The only way to get the display back is to reset the device.
View 4 RepliesThe volume icon won't leave the screen. Now and then it will fade away for a moment only to reappear. I've tried re-starting, checking in settings, and swiping the bottom of the page to bring up the volume control. None of these have any effect on the icon.
View 5 RepliesThe icon doesn't disappear. Only when I go to settings> sound then disappears but reappears as soon as I click back.
View 4 RepliesJUST opened my 64 3G iPad I bought from Best Buy, and there's some pretty bad backlight bleeding on the right side and left side edges. To me this is unacceptable. Please tell me if anybody here has had luck in exchanging it for another iPad? Will I have to take it to Best Buy, or can I go into an Apple Store? If they do offer a replacement will it be new or a refurb?
View 1 RepliesOne day when I woke up and wanted to use my iPad, it turned on and everything, but the screen shows only the backlight! No apple logo, nothing but backlight.
If I try to unlock it, I can hear the sound that it works. Ive tried to reset it multiple times, restored it via iTunes and everything.. Still nothing but backlight. And the rest of the iPad works just fine, exept I cant see anything.

Has anyone else noticed an uneven backlight/screen whiteness? I just got my 16GB, and the screen is uneven.. Standing vertical, with the home button on the bottom, the right side of the screen is slightly yellow/warmer where the left side of the screen is very white and cooler.
View 20 RepliesMy wife's iPad 2 screen is dark. If I use a flashlight I can I see the icons & get it to do anything else but there is no backlight at all.
View 2 RepliesThe screen was tinted pink and had a backlight leak
View 20 RepliesThe backlight of my iPad bleeds into the screen in the upper right corner. It's especially noticeable when viewing dark screens.
View 25 RepliesI had to swap my Ipad at my local apple store because the glass wasn't flush with the bezel.I bring my new one home, fire it up and I noticed that my new ipad has a brightspot on the right side of the screen, about the size of an eraser head. It's only noticeable if the screen is a very light gray or white color.
View 3 RepliesJust got my brand new iPad today and already loving it (first Apple product) - seeing all the things it can do.One of the cool apps I found is called Weather HD. Basically just overview of weather and temps and forecast with a nice HD movie accompanying whatever weather it is (for example, it's clear here tonight, so showing just a few clouds moving against a starry background with moon; a couple different looking movies around this theme play). If it were raining, it'd show rain. Pretty sweet - what I've chosen to use it for (depending on the answer I get here) is prop it up with the case and turn it into basically a weather frame when it's charging. However, my one concern is, while the movie changes, some of the white text does not move, and the screen doesn't shut off either during this. So essentially you've got words on the screen in the same place all the time this is running. I know LCD's today are much better about burnin than of years ago, but am in in danger of burnin if I run this?
View 2 RepliesWhile using my new iPad, the screen shut off but sound still came out of the speaker. When i touch the screen i am still capable of accessing whatever i touch, but the screen is completely off.

here it goes. I received the iPad on monday night 6PM and my parents let me take it out the box to check it over, everything was great so I decided to plug it into iTunes and install iOS 4.2.1 everything went fine (download took an hour :/) but when it went to install the update, once it got to 'Preparing iPad' the iPad just shut off and froze on an apple screen and iTunes reported an "Error 21". I thought I broke it, seriously! but I tried to remedy it by using restore mode, DFU mode and various other ways of installing firmware and it just didn't work, I was stuck. But then I tried installing iOS 3.2.2 and... ERROR 21... but it just restarted and turned on like normal as if I never tried to install anything, it was in it's previous state, I was relieved! But it still refuses iOS 4.2.1 and I'm really missing out without those features, so will somebody please tell me why my iPad won't install the latest update?

I got a new original iPad Thursday from my local Verizon store. I love it, but yesterday I was putting on a Yoobao slim case and noticed that if I press on the glass near the top right side, inside the black border, it flexes and squeaks. This spot on the screen has a bit of backlight bleed (not terrible, but still there) if that has anything to do with it.
The glass apparently touches the screen underneath as the "rainbow" type effect happens -the same effect seen when you touch an LCD. The pressure required to replicate this isn't extreme either, just a medium firm press. Should I be concerned? I'd hate for this to turn into an issue down the road.
since my iPad update the iPod app opens and just shuts down back to iPad screen, anyone know how to my problem ?.
View 2 RepliesI haven't pulled the plastic off mine yet sort of waiting for the case to come, but I don't think it'll last until Tuesday.
